From the A&M site. Stewart says he enjoyed his second trip to Texas A&M and getting to know the coaches and campus better. While he claims no favorite, he says he will visit Texas tech, Texas A&M and Tennessee for sure. Academics, coaching, and the campus atmosphere will be the three most important factors.

By A Bone. Stewart had a great showing at Alabama this week, and was offered. He talks about how much he likes the coaches, facilities and the fact that Alabama is a great program who is back on the rise. He wants to check out Alabama, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Tennessee for sure.

Stewart picks A&M | ShreveportTimes | The Times
Quote:
The list of northwest Louisiana's top uncommitted football prospects dipped again Monday as Byrd linebacker Jonathan Stewart has decided to play at Texas A&M, according to rivals.com.
Stewart, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker, collected 109 tackles, three sacks and an interception as a junior for the playoff-bound Yellow Jackets.
Verbal commitments are nonbinding.
The senior-to-be had scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame Ole Miss and Mississippi State among others.
"He's a good one," said Byrd coach Mike Suggs, who estimated Stewart had at least 18 scholarship offers. "He's 6-foot-4, 220 pounds and can run. He's smart; he understands the game and he can run."
Stewart will remain at inside linebacker in Byrd's 4-4 scheme this season after topping triple digits in tackles as a junior.
For his efforts, Stewart earned All-District 1-5A honors.
Stewart, who is academically qualified with a 3.5 GPA and a 20 ACT score, saw his stock soar during the spring and summer after turning in some impressive workouts at camps.
His athleticism stuck out to recruiters.
Stewart clocked a 4.6 40-second dash and flashed a 28-inch vertical jump.
Stewart had a visit planned to A&M in November but decided to commit early.
"He's a 17-year-old kid," James Stewart, Jonathan's father told rivals.com. "You never know with them. My whole thing is that I want him to be ready for his senior year and practice starts Monday."
