Just two days after Arundel receiver Alec Lemon received his first collegiate offer, the second one came rolling in. This time Syracuse University came calling with an offer to play receiver for the Orange.
According to Lemon's father, Sean Asbury, Syracuse assistant coach Randy Trivers is recruiting Lemon.
Lemon received his first official offer on Tuesday when Delaware extended the offer.

Lemon is a good-looking athlete at the high school level and brings sought-after versatility to the table as a college prospect. Will need to fill out and add strength to play at the next level but is tall with a desired rangy, high-cut body. Offensively, he he has soft hands at receiver and is a big target split out wide. Snags the ball well away from his frame and shows good concentration adjusting to the difficult throw. Adequate route runner who is precise and has a good feel for finding the open spots in zone coverage. Lacks great top-end speed after the catch but can be slippery to bring down with his wiry frame, loose hips and movement skills. While he eats up the cushion quickly at the high school level with his long stride, he could struggle creating separation at the next level due to his marginal burst and speed out of his breaks. On defense, he covers a lot of ground and displays above average range on run and pass support. Adequate break over the top of routes and flashes good ball skills making plays in his deep zone. Tackles low but can lunge and he does not bring great run support skills to the table as a safety. Struggles at times getting over blocks and wrapping up bigger backs. High-cut frame limits his start-stop and change-of-direction quickness at times and we question his ability to break down and mirror quicker slots and skill players in space. Laterally quick but is not a real fast-twitched or explosive athlete. With that said, Lemon brings coveted size, ball skills, athleticism and instincts to the table as a prospect and should find a role at the next level with his well-versed skills in all three phases of the game.

ESPN - Could offers be close for Lemon? - MdVarsity.com

Arundel receiver Alec Lemon traveled the country this summer, with visits to Louisville, Syracuse, Tulane and UConn just to name a few. Now the 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver is awaiting his first official offer which he believes could come soon.
Lemon had some of his best camp performances at Syracuse and Vanderbilt and the two programs are at the top of his list.
"I like both of their academics and how both of the campuses are set up," Lemon said. "I like how all the coaches were involved in the camps. You didn't just see the head coach for 10 seconds like I did at UConn and then he'd be gone. The head coaches were out there and interacting with all the kids."
Lemon added that while neither school has made an official offer, he thinks either of the schools could be the first to do so.
"They want to compare me to the other receivers they've been looking at, or they've offered," Lemon said. "They told me to be patient, but I feel real good about both of those schools."
Lemon is coming off a junior season where he made 70 catches for 969 yards and 13 touchdowns, helping Arundel make it to the Class 4A state title game.

Recruiting Report: Checking in with Alec Lemon - University of Maryland, local and national recruiting news and analysis - baltimoresun.com

It’s been a busy few months for Arundel wide receiver Alec Lemon.
After a season in which the 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior reeled in 70 passes for 969 yards and 13 touchdowns for the 4A runner-up Wildcats, Lemon has been sending highlight film to colleges, sorting through mail, chatting with coaches and taking visits to several interested schools -- including Connecticut, Louisville, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
While it’s been crazy and at times stressful, Lemon’s had the help of two teammates that just recently finished the recruiting process themselves -- quarterback Nick Elko, who signed with Delaware State, and wide receiver Brandon Johnson-Farrell, who inked with Rhode Island.
“When they see me walking around with all these letters ... they’ll tell me, ‘Oh, this is a good one,’ or ‘Oh, this is the one they send to everyone,’” Lemon said.
Lemon, who’s waiting on his first DI scholarship offer, spoke with Recruiting Report recently about his recruitment.
What were your impressions of UConn?
Their program is on the rise, and they’ve been good the past couple of years. All of the athletic facilities are brand new. Their weight room is 18,000 square feet. Everything there is brand new and real nice. ... The coaches are real nice. When I first went to UConn, they let me sit in the position meeting with the wide receivers to see what they do.
What did you like best about Louisville?
Well I liked their offense, the spread offense, which is what we run at my school. It’s a high-powered offense. Every play looks like they can score at will. Their facilities are big, their weight room is big, too. They have an indoor practice facility and two outdoor facilities. The stadium is really big.
Do you have any favorites at this point?
Right now I’m open to anyone, but UConn, I feel like they’re high on my list. That’s who I like right now, but I’m still open to all colleges.
What do you have planned for the summer?
I’ll be going to some camps in the summer, hitting up some combines. I’m going to the Nike combine (at M&T Bank Stadium) this Saturday. I’ll hopefully take some more visits, go to some spring games and practices.
What camps do you plan on attending?
I’m signed up for Clemson, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Maryland and UConn. Those are all day camps.
How do you feel about having such a busy summer?
My whole summer is pretty much gone with all the football camps I’m going to. ... At some times I feel like I’m missing a lot with my summer, but I also see it’ll benefit me in going to college with all these camps. It seems like [colleges] want to see me at camp first and see what I can do. Then hopefully the scholarships will come ... But it should be fun this summer.

By M Alkire. Lemon loves the coaches, academics and campus at Syracuse, who lead for his services. Vanderbilt has also been in contact.

Arundel Receiver Says Go Orange - Josh Barr's Recruiting Insider
Quote:
In the midst of a staff meeting, colleague B.J. Koubaroulis sends this text message: Arundel wide receiver Alec Lemon has committed to play for Syracuse.
Lemon was one of the top receivers last season in the Wildcats' pass-happy offense with nearly 1,000 yards receiving and 13 touchdown catches as Arundel advanced to the Maryland 4A final. He spent the summer on the camp/combine circuit seeking to raise his stock.
