SCOUTING MARRY: While there will be a need to add weight down the line, this is a gifted football talent who knows how to read plays from the start. Unlike many high school inside linebackers, who use strength and speed, Marry relies on instinct and technique first, which is why he has separated himself vs. other prospects at the position.
Having watched him in part of four games, we can see why many feel the way they do about him. While he may not be one of the fastest players at the position, he relies on reading plays and instinct, which along with his impressive ability to make initial tackles, is why he is as good as he is.
Watch any play and this is someone who is never far from the action. Great players are never taught instinct. It is something that is acquired through years of playing and recognizing the flow of plays.
Even against the top teams this year, Marry found a way to disrupt the action with a motor that never stops. Quality football talent who is equally as impressive stopping the run as he is with sacking a quarterback or even covering a back out of the backfield. His height is also an incredible asset to what he brings as a football player.
MARRY MOMENTS: This past season, he registered 140 plus tackles, making several post season all-star teams and watch lists for the future.
He was recognized as one of the state’s elite prospects for the future after two solid seasons for the Packers.
WHAT THE COLLEGE RECRUITERS ARE SAYING: “This is one of those athletes who jumps out at you immediately. His size, athletic ability and knowledge of the game of football make him a must get for any college looking to upgrade the defense.”
HIS BAGS ARE PACKED: Early on in the process, programs such as USF, UCF and several other programs have vowed to continue to watch his progress. More will follow during the spring and into the summer.

From the UK site. Marry says he is not only interested in Kentucky for football, but also their great engineering program. Distance is not a factor, but early playing time is.

LB Mike Marry (6-3 210) of Largo, FL is a heavily recruited prospect and has not yet narrowed his list. "Everybody is still in it," Marry said. That includes USC. "I talk to South Carolina a lot," he said. "I'm still learning about them." Marry also has offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Iowa, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Purdue, Florida, South Florida, Stanford, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Central Florida and Duke. "I'm looking for coaches who like to win and like to work hard," Marry said, "and players who like to get along." Marry visited Florida, South Florida and Central Florida this spring to watch practice. Last season he had 142 tackles with four sacks and three interceptions.

Mike has offers from USC, Nebraska, Florida, Stanford, Arkansas, Florida State, Stanford and others.
“I might visit USC.” Said Marry, “I like the coaching staff there. I get a lot of letters from them just asking how everything is going. USC said I could play early but could not guarantee it.”
“I will try to visit Nebraska this fall.” he said, “They send me letters. I do like how Nebraska runs the program. I like Bo Pelini. My coach use to go to Nebraska (as a student).”
“I like to play linebacker where I move around a lot. Use in blitz packages. All the schools recruiting me use the linebackers the same way. I don’t have a favorite school right now. I will narrow it down soon.” said Marry
“I didn’t make it to any Junior Day’s this year. I might go to Florida and Central Florida summer camps.” he said.
“I’ve been to Florida before.” said Marry, “I saw the Florida and Florida State game last year. I like the coaching staff at Florida, how they treat their players, take care of them.”
“I like everything there is at Florida. Gainesville is only a couple hours away. Florida coaches said I could play early too.” he said
“I don’t know too much about Florida State. I haven’t heard much from them lately.”
