Edgewater survived a stiff test in its high school football season opener last week.

The Eagles, ranked No. 1 in the Sentinel Super 6, weren't as fortunate Friday night.

B.J. Daniels accounted for all five touchdowns as host Tallahassee Lincoln knocked off the Eagles 35-28. Kissimmee Osceola, which beat Clermont East Ridge 44-3, is expected to take over the top spot in the Super 6 rankings when they are released Monday.

With national signing day six days away, Michigan's quarterback recruiting continues to intrigue.
Jeannette, Pa., quarterback Terrelle Pryor remains the nation's No. 1 high school prospect and, by most accounts, will choose between Michigan and Ohio State.


Roy Hall, Pryor's quarterbacks coach at Jeannette, told the Cleveland Plain Dealer for a Wednesday story that "a lot of things are telling me Ohio State. That's my gut feeling." Regardless of whether that's true, Michigan must have a backup plan, and coach Rich Rodriguez has said he plans to sign at least two quarterbacks -- a necessity after Ryan Mallett's transfer.

U-M ends recruitment of quarterback Daniels

B.J. Daniels, who has been ranked the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the nation, is no longer being recruited by Michigan, it is being reported.

Michigan called off an in-home visit that was scheduled for Thursday and backed off the recruitment, scout.com is reporting. Kyle Rice, Daniels' high school coach in Tallahassee, Fla., told rivals.com that the recruitment was over.
