Harrison has to learn how to use his big body at an offensive lineman. He is nearly three hundred pounds and at 6 foot three he has the potential to be a sound football player. Must play lower in his stance. Much of the time is in a "two" point instead of in a "three" point stance. As a result, has really got to concentrate on bending his knees and dropping the hips as he coming off the ball. Even from the "three", however, he comes out too high. Powerful when hands are used as a weapon and delivers a jarring punch; sometimes accepts the charge of the defensive lineman. Legs have to follow with contact; too late at driving the legs allows the defender to be the aggressor. Usually wins the one on one battle because of his size when the defensive man is in a base technique. Really has trouble with movement because of feet. Quick set passing is sound; delivers a punch and has good body position. Deep setting is somewhat of an issue. Must work at getting off the ball quicker and getting weight down by lowering the hips with more knee bend. Physically gifted enough to stop the initial charge of the defender by striking a blow. Must use his long arms to lock out rusher and keep him away from his body. Can't let the defender win inside hand control. Harris can be good offensive lineman but has to be more flexible and more physical. He has a good frame and when he matures physically will be a very productive offensive guard.

USC has jumped into the race for OL Jonathan Harrison (6-4 290) of Groveland, FL becoming his third official offer. His other offers are from Boston College and Southern Miss while Florida and Auburn are showing strong interest. Harrison is called a tenacious blocker by his coach, a blocker who goes to the whistle blows.

By M Bakas. East Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, Florida, Florida State, USF, and Florida have all offered. He says he is really interested in all the Florida schools, but that the fact USF does not have thier own stadium is a real turn-off for him.

From the FSU site. Harrison says that Florida leads, but that he is keeping an open mind on his visits. His visits to UCF and USF jumped them way up on his list. He plans to visit Florida State soon, and decide in July.

From the Florida site. Committed to Florida. Harrison says it has alwas been his dream to play for his favorite school. He talks about the comfort level he had with the coaches and players when he was around them. His parents are very excited, as they also wanted him to be a Gator.
