DB Ricardo Dixon (5-11 168) of Hallandale, FL is a highly recruited prospect who counts offers from USC and Clemson in his collection. Other offers include North Carolina, Florida State, Ole Miss, Auburn, West Virginia, Central Florida and Tennessee. Dixon plans to take a hard look at the Gamecocks. "I am going to go out there for an official visit," he said. "Florida State and South Carolina are the only two officials I'm sure about right now. As of right now, everybody is up there. I'm looking for the coaches and the campus lifestyle. I like a city atmosphere; country wouldn't do for me." Last season, Dixon had 52 tackles with 30 passes broken up and one interception.

Hallandale, which has undergone a dramatic turnaround under Jones, including a 10-2 season a year ago, has plenty of other schools interested in many more of its players. None more, perhaps, than 2009 cornerback and fellow Krop transfer Ricardo Dixon. Jones said the 6-foot, 175-pound junior has 17 offers. Florida State, South Florida, UCF, Tennessee and West Virginia are among the leaders for Dixon, who was timed by Jones' staff with 4.39 speed in the 40. But Dixon said he'd love it if his dream school -- the University of Miami -- gave him a call.

''I really grew up a UM fan,'' Dixon said Monday. ``I admired Sean Taylor and Devin Hester a lot and I really like the Canes. But I haven't heard from them yet.''

DB Ricardo Dixon (6-0 175) of Hallandale, FL has USC among his top four, and he and his parents will visit the school this weekend. "I really like USC," he said. "I talked to coach Gillespie. He said he was really impressed with how I played in the spring game. I had four passes broken up and two tackles. And I locked down their star receiver." Also in Dixon's top four are South Florida, Florida State and Ole Miss. He also has offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, NC State, West Virginia and Central Florida. Dixon plans to set one of his official visits with USC. Last season he had 52 tackles with one interception. And he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
