Manny Navarro's Spring Tour, Part 2 - 05/09/2008 - MiamiHerald.com
Quote:
The relay's anchor, Kayvon Webster (6-0, 175), already has 10 scholarship offers and was under the watchful eye of West Virginia assistant Doc Holliday on Thursday afternoon. Slaughter said he will start Webster, who runs a legit 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, at free safety and receiver this season.
The All-Dade first-team selection caught 18 passes for 404 yards and five touchdowns in Pace's new spread offense a year ago. But Slaughter still isn't sure where Webster will end up at the next level. Slaughter said Florida and Vanderbilt want Webster as a receiver, and Alabama, Syracuse, Kansas State, West Virginia and Auburn like him as a defensive back.

DB Kayvon Webster (5-11 180) of Miami will camp at South Florida this weekend. He has been to LSU and Ole Miss for camps and will be at Alabama for a camp in July. USC is among his offers and the Gamecock recruiter Robert Gillespie continues to work him. "He's telling me I can be a great player there and make history," Webster said. "I could be an impact player." Webster said he's in touch with Gillespie about once a week. The Gamecocks like him as a safety. Some of his other offers are Auburn, West Virginia, Floridas, Louisville, Virginia, Wisconsin, Purdue, Boston College, Tennessee and Miami. He does not have favorites. Last season Webster had 90 tackles and one interception, and as a receiver he totaled 30 receptions for 500 yards and 8 touchdowns.

By M Bakas. Webster is focused on Miami, LSU, Boston College, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee,Virginia and Florida. He is aware that Miami only plans on take a few CB's, but wants to see what else is out there before he makes his choice.
