Petey Smith said Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville was at Armwood’s campus within the last few weeks and extended an offer to him, as well as an offer to junior defensive back Angelo Hadley and junior defensive lineman Ryne Giddins. It is one of many offers Smith has collected from a major Division I program.

Petey Smith said the trio of Hawks standout junior defensive players have at least discussed the possibility of heading to Auburn together. How serious they were in those discussions remains to be seen.

lineman Ryne Giddins are considered some of the state’s most sought-after recruits, a third member of the Hawks defense is garnering his fair share of attention as well, according to Hawks coach Sean Callahan.

That third member would be junior defensive back Angelo Hadley.

“Angelo’s stock is going through the roof,” Callahan said.

The latest schools to offer Hadley, a Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team selection in 2007, include Ohio State, Tennessee and Central Florida, Callahan said.

"I want to play for a program that is known for producing safeties and for coaches who really know what they are doing," Angelo Hadley said. "I don't plan on making a decision until after the season because I want to see as much as I can. I'll take all of my visits for sure." Hadley said he favors Georgia, Auburn, North Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, Florida and South Florida.
