Basford could have decision soon > Palmetto Sports Recruiting News

Quote:
TE Neil Basford (6-5 235) of Jacksonville, FL is down to USC and Wake Forest and could have a decison within a week, if not sooner. "I'll know in a day or two if I'm going to decide early or wait until after the season," said Basford who visited USC Saturday with his father. "I'm going to sit down with my parents and my coach and see what the next step is and everything." Basford also was considering Virginia Tech and Florida State, but Tech wants him to greyshirt, and Florida State just received a commitment from a tight end. That leaves him with the Gamecocks and Demon Deacons. "I love both of them," he said. "They are two totally different schools. They're both recruiting me hard. South Carolina definitely wants me. Coach Spurrier said they need a tight end and he thinks USC is the place to be right now." Basford will make his decision based on a few qualities. "You've got to be comfortable whereever you are," he said. "Academics are pretty big. And proximity."
