The 2009 class features a pair of tackles -- 6-5, 280-pounder Steven Jacques and 6-8, 290-pounder Ashley Bulluck -- with impressive offers. Jacques, a state qualifier in wrestling, has more than a dozen, including several from the SEC, and Bulluck has three (including ones from South Florida and FAU).

''Steven has definitely worked hard to get where he's at now,'' coach Allen Held said Thursday. ``He benches 405 pounds, squats 600 and has great, great feet. He was a state qualifier in wrestling and has a lot of tools at his disposal.''

But the Hurricanes have not pulled the trigger to offer Jacques yet even though he already has offers from a number of other schools including Florida State, South Florida, Auburn, South Carolina and West Virginia.

Miami offensive coordinator Patrick Nix visited Jacques during the spring and requested film of the talented and strong offensive linemen, a position of need for the Hurricanes, but to date, no offer has come -- which has left Jacques surprised.

''I am really surprised that I have gotten an offer,'' Jacques said. ``Coach Nix came to see me in the spring. I thought he was going to offer. I don't know what happened. I don't hear from them anymore.''

But in the meantime, he has planned official visits to three of the schools who have offered him.

''I've already set up official visits with Auburn, West Virginia and South Florida,'' Jacques said.

Offensive guard Steven Jacques committed to sign with the Tigers over South Florida Sunday after visiting for the nail-biter against LSU, ESPN affiliate AuburnUndercover.com reports. West Virginia was previously in the mix.

He said, "It felt like a relief to get it off my shoulders. Now I can focus on my senior season."

Jacques continued, "I picked the right game to come to. I'll tell you that. I got chills, goosebumps. It was a very good game. The atmosphere was indescribable. I just like Auburn. There's something about Auburn that just got me."
