Both players have one more thing in common. They are undecided on whether they will accept their offers from Rutgers or pursue other options.
"Right now I'm open for any college," said Hayward. "I think I know where I want to go, but I want to leave my options open. The atmosphere was great at Rutgers, but there will be a couple of more offers that I want to think about."

Rutgers lands another 4-star recruit - Rutgers Football - News, training camp updates, blogs, schedule, columns and more - NJ.com
Quote:
Rutgers' banner football class for 2009 added another headliner yesterday when Aaron Hayward, one of the state's top running backs but projected to be a wide receiver in college, gave head coach Greg Schiano a verbal commitment, according to rivals.com.
The 6-0, 195-pound Hayward rushed for 1,363 yards and 17 TDs as a junior at Penns Grove High School in Carneys Point last fall. Scout.com rates him as a four-star recruit.
An established track standout, Hayward caught the attention of major football programs when he was named overall MVP of the National Underclassman
Combine in Lincoln Park in February of 2007.
He ran a 4.55 in the 40 during that combine.
North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia had offered Hayward, who also played safety last fall. He is the 12th player to give Rutgers a verbal commitment for 2009.

Who will be the next commit? Bush? Noel? Fontaine? Ryan? Donohue?

Absolutely. Hayward didn't really make any efforts to hide his preferences, even fans of other schools had long conceded him. Locking up a class early is always somewhat of a gamble, but it frees the staff up to focus on a couple key targets later on, and gives them a chance to get an early start on 2010.
