Claims an offer from Syracuse. Hopes for Pittsburgh and Rutgers offers on his visits. Pittsburgh wants him at QB, Syracuse as an athlete, and Rutgers as a DB.

Commitment
Wayne Warren commits to Rutgers today. He was not sure until this weekend whether he wanted to be a Scarlet Knight or an Orange but after the official visit to Rutgers and the energy that the team and coaching staff had he wanted to be surrounded by these people for the next 4 years. Another good recruit is headed to RU!

Wayne Warren, a quarterback from Salisbury, Md., became the 11th player in Rutgers' recruiting class for next year when he gave the Knights a verbal commitment yesterday, according to scout.com. Rated the No. 38 quarterback nationally by scout.com, the 6-2, 202-pound Warren may wind up as a safety in college.

Hens woo Wicomico quarterback
Among Delaware's other recruits over the weekend was quarterback Wayne Warren, of Wicomico High in Salisbury, Md. Warren has committed to Rutgers as a defensive back, with the understanding he still will visit schools that are recruiting him to play quarterback, Wicomico coach David Nettles said.
"He's really interested in continuing as a quarterback and, apparently, Delaware really impressed him," Nettles said.
Warren concurred, saying his choice will be between Rutgers, Delaware and, perhaps, Connecticut, where he also is being recruited as a quarterback and will visit later this month.
The 6-foot, 197-pound Warren passed for 2,141 yards and 29 touchdowns and rushed for 473 yards and 11 TDs in three years as a starter, though his senior season ended early because of a knee injury.
Warren said he is not deterred by Delaware's reliance on I-A transfers at quarterback throughout Keeler's six years as UD coach, and the likelihood that the Blue Hens will pursue another such transfer with Joe Flacco having completed his eligibility this season.
"If I sit back and look at my potential, I'm a Division I-A quarterback," Warren said. "I don't doubt my ability."
