Immaculata 2009 prospect Mark Brazinski was as advertised and has a great personality to boot. Brazinski has great feet and can really move. Like most young linemen he needs to work on his strength and not letting guys get inside of him. As a pure center, he is a good one.

From the Rutgers site. Penn and Boston College have offered, and Mark is hearing from many other schools as well. He will be at Rutgers junior day, and says that academics and playing time with both be important factors in his college choice.

From Rutgers site. Rutgers offered at the Junior Day today. Coach Schiano sat down and had a private meeting with him and his family to let him know he had an offer to play at RU in the future.

Shows some video of him at NIKE Penn State. Talks about his goals for the upcoming season, and mentions a new offer from Florida State.

Brazinski fits the bill as an offensive center. He has the ideal body build at 6 feet 4 and 285 pounds. Plays with great leverage. Gets good pad level when blocking a middle guard right on the nose or shaded to one side or the other. Has little problem blocking back and gives a good first punch. A real scrapper that stays on his blocks; does not give up. Must work at keeping pads low as play develops. At times will raise up and straighten legs resulting in a loss of power. Gets good positioning on downfield blocks and will latch on to a defender. Maintains body control and balance especially in the running game. Chips well to the next level on combination blocks. Uses hands well in pass protection but plays too high at times. Hips have got to stay low without over extending. Appears to be conscious of not crossing feet in order to stay balanced. As in the running game, shows quick hands and good initial blow delivery. Keeps good position on the rusher and shuffles feet to stay in phase with the defender. Plays with determination and goes hard every play; not afraid to fight the defender. Offensive center is not easy to play but Brazinski does it very well; he is truly a take charge guy up front. If he puts on some bulk, concentrates on maintaining position and plays with proper leverage, he will be one of the best centers in the class of 2009.

Immaculata High School's Brazinski commits to play football for Rutgers | mycentraljersey.com | MyCentralJersey.com
Quote:
The Immaculata High School center, who will be a senior in the fall, announced Tuesday that he will attend Rutgers University.
Parents Mary Anne and Joe joined Brazinski's brothers Brian and Paul and sister Andrea for the announcement, which took place in a classroom at Immaculata.
Brazinski capped the announcement by putting on a black and red Rutgers hat and a bright red jacket. For an additional touch, he wore a blue Superman tie.
Brazinski became the second Immaculata football player this spring to announce his intentions of playing for a Division I school, joining classmate and running back Theo Riddick, who announced he'll attend Notre Dame.
Brazinski was rated among the top 100 junior linenen in the country by rivals.com.
"I feel very strongly about the (Rutgers) program," said the 6-foot-4, 285-pound center. "I liked the coaches very much, especially coach (Kyle) Flood (the Knights' offensive line coach). I first met him at a summer camp and from there we just hit it off."
Brazinski said he also seriously considered Penn and Boston College before settling on Rutgers. One of the primary reasons he liked Rutgers was the university's revamping of its business school, which now allows first-year students to enroll in.
"The distance wasn't a factor," he said. "I wanted to find a place that fit me best."
Brazinski and his parents said they were thrilled by the atmosphere at Rutgers.
"I was at the South Florida game last year (at Rutgers) and I didn't sit down the whole game and my voice was completely gone," Brazinski said. "Having an atmosphere like that was amazing."
Immaculata assistant head coach Joe Servidio praised Brazinski's work ethic.
"He puts in a complete mile when it comes to his workouts," said Servidio, who is also Brazinski's history teacher. "He's big, strong and hard working and willing to work hard to do the job."

From the Rutgers site. Mark talks more about why he picked Rutgers, whihc included the coaches as well as the fact he could get into the business school as a freshman. He knows that NFL careers are short, so he understands how important it is to leave college with an education.

ESPN - Who just missed the cut? - Football Recruiting

The offensive line is well represented in the initial release of the ESPNU 150 with 20 big hogs making it. Still, there were more linemen who drew strong consideration. At the top of that list is center Mark Brazinski (Somerville, NJ / Immaculata), a near miss for the initial release of the ESPNU 150. Not many true centers have made the ESPNU 150 in its history, but Brazinski reminds us a lot of a past center who has. 2008 prospect Braxston Cave (Granger, Ind. / Penn) cracked the 150 with a terrific week at the Under Armour game this past January. His physical and tenacious run-blocking style reminds us of Brazinski. So this Rutgers commit could crack the 150 with a strong senior year.

ESPN - Mark Brazinski Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2009
Quote:
"I committed prematurely and want to re-evaluate all of my opportunities," Brazinski told ESPN's Billy Tucker Thursday morning.
He also said Rutgers is still very much in the mix, no new teams have come into the picture at this point, but he plans to take at least some of his official visits before making his final decision.
The Under Armour All American center chose the in-state Scarlet Knights over Florida State, Boston College and UPenn in early June.

Looks like wants to follow his brother to UPenn.

Visiting UNC on 10/25 and plans to visit BC in December. Visited Princeton for the Lehigh game last week, and still remains very interested in UPenn.
