There's a good chance he'll be a TE for us, especially if we don't lure another target. S? Maybe, but we have some other options there. LB? Maybe. WR isn't likely.
I did think it was interesting how word suddenly leaked out of his verbal earlier, when for most of the year he sounded very lukewarm.

Needs to bulk up a bit to get a shot at TE. I think that's where he'll most likely end up, though.

Courier News Online - 2008 Rutgers football class grows with Hamm, Carter
Quote:
PISCATAWAY - Apparently, Greg Schiano's flirtation with Michigan had no ill effects on his recruiting efforts this weekend.
The Rutgers football coach received commitments from a pair of highly-touted athletes Sunday, bringing the total of high school seniors who have pledged to the 2008 incoming class to 10.
Marquis Hamm won't travel far for his future college destination, as the New Brunswick High School product chose Rutgers over scholarship offers from Colorado, Cincinnati, Iowa, Syracuse and Temple.
Hamm, a 6-foot-3, 215-pounder who's expected to play linebacker for Rutgers, turned in a solid senior campaign for the Zebras. The catalyst for one of Middlesex County's staunchest defenses this fall, Hamm also starred at wide receiver, hauling in 36 receptions for 605 yards and six touchdowns.
Morgan Carter, a 6-foot-3, 200-pounder from Woodbridge, Va., picked Rutgers over Michigan State, Duke, Connecticut, Temple and Towson. Virginia's 13th-ranked recruit, according to VirginiaPreps.com, Carter is a versatile athlete who has played six different positions for the C.D. Hylton football team during his four-year career.
Though he played quarterback this fall, Carter is projected as a tight end or outside linebacker at Rutgers. He's been timed as fast at 4.6 seconds in the 40-meter dash, and also excels in the classroom, holding a 4.0 grade-point-average in Advanced Placement courses and scoring a 1716 on his SAT.
Hamm and Carter are consensus three-star recruits, and both committed to Rutgers after making official campus visits this past weekend. Apparently, neither were scared off by the news that Schiano interviewed for the Michigan head coaching vacancy last week.
"I'm very open with our recruits so certainly I'm not going to have a 10,000-pound gorilla standing in the corner," Schiano said Saturday, a day after he withdrew his candidicy while reaffirming his Rutgers' commitment. "I addressed it immediately, and just like everything else, it's behind us."
Though the exact number of scholarships Rutgers will fill isn't known, Schiano recently said he expects this class to be smaller than recent years.
