Oak Hills senior-to-be offensive tackle Rick Schmeig has orally committed to play at Purdue, according to Oak Hills coach Kurry Commins.

Schmeig, who is 6 feet 5 inches and 305 pounds, was recurited by West Virginia, Louisville, Marshall and all the MAC schools, Commins said.

“Coach (Joe) Tiller told me that I’m going to be a guard,” Schmeig told Scout.com recently. “That’s fine with me. I feel that I’m strong enough to take on defensive tackles and athletic enough to pull and trap."
