Shows great quickness off the snap, often iniates contact with a defender before the defender gets out of the crouch. Stankiewitch is a tenacious run blocker. He not only blocks, but he finishes his blocks as well. Very quick getting to the second level. Good hand speed and delivers a powerful punch. He locks on and does not let go.

Schuykill Haven, Pa., product Matt Stankiewitch was in action tonight in a playoff match against West Scranton High School, a powerhouse with two Division I-A players up front and a talented quarterback to boot. In the end, West Scranton was too much for Stankiewitch and his team, however he’ll soon be playing his football in Happy Valley, something we spoke to him Friday about.
