By Alkire...committed to PennState. Cites his relationship with LJ Sr. and the other Maryland players at PSU as some of the reasons for his decision.

Penn State Lands Another All-Met - Josh Barr's Recruiting Insider

Quote:
Chalk up one more for Penn State. Gaithersburg All-Met lineman Sean Stanley earlier this afternoon committed to play for the Nittany Lions.

“He thought about Maryland,” Gaithersburg Coach Kreg Kephart said. “I think he thought long and hard about Georgia, Stanford and Michigan. And Pitt. And Tennessee and Nebraska. Those were the main ones he was thinking about.”

Stanley said he took about 10 campus visits this spring and that Penn State was by far his favorite. The feeling was reinforced by a phone call from recruiter extraordinaire Larry Johnson. And Kephart felt his star was tiring of the recruiting process. So it was time to make a decision.

“I felt it was time to end this process so I could focus on my lifting,” Stanley said.

Stanley said being the fifth local rising senior played a part in his decision, adding that when Lackey cornerback Darrell Givens changed his commitment from Ohio State to Penn State “that made it even more interesting.”

I don't want to get way ahead of myself here, but I will...I see Sean being a Maurice Evans clone. Great get and I really believe Sean is going to be an excellent DE at Penn State. I think he will be an integral part of the DE rotation as a true freshman. Tamba, Maurice...and whichever players emerges next.

Q&A with Stanley...among other things, talks about how he made his decision and how he informed the staff.

Scout/Rivals premium say he's visiting Nebraska today, and NU's offer list has him visiting too.

I don't have any more info than that. Personally I wouldn't worry unless there's something else beyond just a visit.

Not worried about him whatsoever. He is taking his official to PSU next weekend.
