In other Quince Orchard recruiting news, second-team All-Met wide receiver Travis Hawkins also has an offer from Maryland. All-Met lineman Terrence Stephens (6-2, 285), defensive end Jason Ankrah (6-4, 235) and tight end Cody Magill (6-3, 225) are drawing plenty of attention. Georgia assistant Tony Ball was at the Gaithersburg school today to meet with Mencarini.

Quality athlete who seems to like PSU.
So far, some good offers out to CB's - a position of huge need in this class.

By M. Alkire. Hawkins picked up offers from Illinois, Syracuse, and UConn this week. He talks a bit about each.

From the Maryland site. Hawkins coach says that travis is very interested in Maryland, and that they have been on him the longest. Two other teamates are being recruited by Maryland, and Kerr from last year's class is already there.

Zach Kerr probably ends up at Hargraves or Fork Union. If he had the grades, everyone knows he wouldn't have gone to Maryland.

Hard to say about that. Local recruiting for MD has been a mess lately, but they did make some staff changes late that could eventually pay off. Obviously, they're going to have some trouble unless they win more or bring in a Locksley on the staff.
