Fromt the Oregon site. Tate took a visit to Oregon, and came away impressed. He talks about how he could be used like Dixon, and how the staff made him a better QB. He names no favorites.

There are some intriguing recent developments at UCLA (see Brehaut thread in 2009 news forum).
Up until this point, they had put all of their eggs into the Forcier basket. Let Bridgeford go to Cal, didn't offer Nunes (who Florida and others are chasing after), didn't offer several other decent options.
On Saturday, they brought in Nunes and another QB. No news on Nunes yet, but Brehaut received his offer on Saturday and committed on the spot.

The UCLA coaching staff assured Brehaut he'll be the only quarterback from the class of 2009 offered a scholarship by the school, a distinction he was competing for with Upland High School junior quarterback Josh Nunes.

So apparently, they're out.

Look for Mr. Forcier to be at Penn State at the end of June.

A top 20. This is an uphill climb....and that top 20 includes UM, what the hell. I figured he would put out a top 10, some kids who are top-tier prospects only get 20 written scholarship offers...
Well we are in the top 20 so I guess I should be happy about that..but damn!

The next cut shouldn't be too tough...I mean how long do you expect schools like UNLV, Wazzu and ISU to stick around? I think the real competition is going to be Michigan, Tennessee, Stanford, Virginia and possibly a wild card like Kansas or Arizona State.

Announcing the top 20 is a bit too much. I can easily chop this down to seven and Michigan is NO WHERE to be found. They have two QBs. I somehow don't think he is BYU material given his recruitment unless he is the next Jim McMahon. A&M, Virginia and Florida (maybe Tennessee) are the ones that somewhat concern me.

This is true, but seriously...who puts out a top 20!!!!! Penn State being in his top 20 means less than nothing. Top 10 and I would have been somewhat optimistic but something tells me he isn't going to go from a top 20 to committing to Penn State....which means this is going to play out and that is NOT good for Penn State. At this point we have two "legitimate" QB targets who could come in and be relatively ready to play if they were needed; Jordan Reed & Tate Forcier.
I hope the staff knows what they are doing with all the effort they are putting in, and I hope Eric Shrive among others are up at Penn State when the Forcier family makes their visit - who wouldn't want a 6'7 5* OT blocking for them? Or a stud like Stefen Wisniewski blocking for them on the OL...I swear this kid is going to be an All-American before he leaves Penn State - Lou & Steve are my proof, and he is a nasty run blocker.
