Update and film from BWI...made an unofficial visit to PSU for the OSU game last weekend and talks about his interest in PSU and why he decided to make the trip. He was told by the staff that he is their guy if they don't get Pryor.
I guess the PSU staff is still holding out a little more hope for Pryor than reigle9 is...

And every other fan that knows what they're talking about. I actually think that statement was quite telling that we're not getting him. Already working a JR from Cali isn't quite PSU's style unless they know they really have to. I'm a little worried they told Forcier he was the man if the Kevin Newsome rumors are true. I wouldn't be any happier if they'd take both of them. Maybe Jay can get lucky with one of them.

Part 2 of BWI's Q&A with Tate...confirms offers from Wisconsin, Arizona and Stanford and is expecting coaches from ND and UCLA to see him play soon. Will commit after his junior season is over and hints that the PSU offer might be the one he is looking for, despite also being recruiting by Notre Dame, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan State, UCLA, Oregon and Cal.

And I'm pretty sure the one playing at Stanford left Michigan when they got Mallet. Sounds like another family spawning QBs like the Mannings or Clausens. I'm impressed that he'd make the trip from Cal for an unofficial visit at this early stage of the game.

Amen, You know the kid at least has some sort of interest.

Time for staff to give up on Pryor and give this kid an offer. He would jump on it quickly. His film reminds me of a Drew Tate, Doug Fluttie, Fran Tarkenton, or a Brett Basanez type of QB. Newsome could be had as well, but VPI is seriously in the mix. Wouldn't mind both of them. Forcier would be a great get and a kid that would work the phones to get a quality class in, like Brewster did for OSU. Why wait?

Word is Newsome is already on board. You're right about Forcier getting on the phone. He seems like that kind of guy. I would actually be at least moderately surprised if we don't get both of them.
I want Newsome so bad though. His videos are sick. He has a 3.7 GPA. He already looks like a college senior. He'll be a guy I'll always follow no matter where he goes.

I think Walker meant that Newsome is PSU's #1 target at QB and NOT on board. I seriously doubt he is "on board" for PSU since VPI is there. That is the competition for him.

Iowa has offered.

Forcier had an excellent season amassing almost 2,400 yards on 164 of 213 completions (77 percent). He also had 21 TD's against 6 INT's. Hopes that this performance will garner him more offers than just the Big Ten. Speaks positively about Oregon and Penn State. Will decide by end of school year.

He said he's going to decide in the spring. If PSU doesn't trip over themselves, actually offer him (remember to stamp the envelope), and remind him that he'll be fighting it out with someone in his own class to be a three year starter............he's coming here.
Lot of if's especially with the state of the staff right now.
