At best, Crawford will get an offer in June at the senior camp. I think there's a 50/50 shot at this point, as we are in good shape with better WR prospects.

I'm curious as to why our staff isn't interested in CC as a QB prospect, especially when we are struggling to attract blue chip QB's up to this point.

Didn't hear he looked like crap. This is just another string along. Brown should be in the bag, along with Clark. That leaves one opening and like four other WR offers went out. For some reason, I think Brandon Scott gets the offer out of June Camp over Crawford. Look at the heights of the receivers PSU is attempting to get ... all 6-1 to 6-4 and maybe a 5-11 in there some where.

Crawford would be a nice second QB, but his throwing motion blows. JayPa can't fix it.

I would love this kid to get an offer because he would work his ass off. He WANTS to be at PSU and its very evident.

Crawford will play senior year at Nitro - Huntington, WV -- The Herald-Dispatch

Huntington High's C.J. Crawford doesn't know what college football uniform he'll wear in 2009, but he'll be in a different high school uniform this fall.

Crawford said Friday he won't be with the Highlanders as a senior. Crawford said his parents are sending him to Nitro High School.

"I'm headed to play football at Nitro and that's all my parents told me," Crawford said. "I'll miss my teammates at Huntington, but like I said this was a decision made by my parents and not me.

"I have been in Hurricane all day and it was my parents that withdrew me from Huntington and enrolled me in Nitro. I didn't do that."

Crawford was the primary identity of the Huntington High team last season that had a 1-9 record. Despite the lack of winning, his individual recruiting stock has soared with impressive performances at national camps and combines.

He has narrowed his college choices to Marshall, West Virginia, Penn State, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Huntington High second-year head coach Zach Wilson seemed to be surprised but undaunted about losing his top player.

"I have heard from a counselor's aid that C.J. officially withdrew today," Wilson said. "I also questioned athletic director Bruce Senior about C.J.'s status and he also acknowledged that he had withdrew.

Get the feeling he now knows an offer from PSU isn't coming. He was going to come up for the Senior Day Camp on the 21st and try to earn an offer as a WR. Hope he gets one because he is talented and wants to be a Lion. I wish him the best.

From the Wake site. Crawford still only holds offers from Wake Forest and Marshall, and says not much has changed as far as recruiting goes. He is high on Wake, who has been working him out at DB and WR.
