They really need to offer him soon. Boyd to WVU means Newsome is basically done to VPI. That leaves Forcier and Savage and I don't think Savage is interested in PSU and personally I hope he isn't. He is the next coming of Morelli.

I personally have always wanted to wait and see what Pat Devlin can do on the field [pre-Pryor, as well as post-Pryor] before worrying about stud QB recruits...we have one, who sat the bench while Morelli did his "thing". I must say that, the way we manage that position scares the hell out of me. Isn't there a Nike camp or another Penn State Junior day April 4th-5th? I've got to believe that when Crawford shows up and gets a look around that he will get his offer, but the question is will he jump on it or wait and see if other schools come after him.
Personally, I'm hoping for him to commit while at Penn State. It all comes down to us basically having two 1A realistic QB recruits on roster in Clark and Devlin, and Cianciolo who is pitching for the Penn State baseball team. And West Scranton [Shrive's QB] Matt McGloin coming as a preferred walk-on who isn't even on campus and could turn into a serviceable QB you can trust 2 or 3 years from now...that is scary. But that is what you get when your QB coach isn't actively recruiting QB prospects. Does the staff believe a FL QB with over 50 offers is going to come to Penn State? UM fans seem quite confident with regard to Forcier whether it is warranted or not, I'm not sure. Newsome will be ridiculously hard to pry away from VT even though they have at least 4 possibly 5-6 QBs including Newsome. Do you think when Pryor signs with tOSU that the staff will take a hard look at Payne [OH], Newton [IN]? This is the position that worries me each and every year.

Why do I get the feeling that staff is going to wait on Crawford a bit in fear they might lose Forcier? I think if Crawford was offered, the chances are he would accept, which might turn Forcier somewhere else.

Makes sense. Hopefully Crawford is still willing to come (as an ATH) if PSU is fortunate enough to get Forcier.

I don't understand why he isn't getting his Penn State offer...grades looked fine unless I am thinking of someone else. I don't know if he ever made an appearance for either JD or not but not exactly wise to just hold off on offering an athlete of this caliber...exactly what we have missed the last year or two on the offensive side with the exception of Price, Wedderburn, Green.

It appears Penn State, along with some other schools, are waiting for an SAT score. The Huntington area schools do not have the best of reputations.

I don't get it either. The SAT score thing is nothing but slowplaying a kid. PSU is recruiting him as a QB. Maybe they know he would be in the bag with an offer and might scare away Forcier. PSU needs two QBs, not one.

If Forcier is scared off by an offer to an athlete than is there really a point in waiting on him? The kid has a ton of ships, and has been recently saying many times he is wide open and not a Penn State lean. To this point we have supposedly offered 5 QBs :
[Newsome-VT lean, Forcier-?, Newton-?, Murray-laughable, Savage-doubtful...wouldn't be surprised to see him join Stokes at some point]
2 or 3 of those QBs are almost assuredly not coming to Penn State. We're seriously going to put all of our eggs in a basket with Forcier & Newton. Crawford has said numerous times that he and his brother grew up fans of Penn State, Craig has said he follows the team and called Penn State 'his team'. He has said he would really like to get his shot at QB but wouldn't be mad if he didn't get it because he can play QB, safety or be an ATH.
We are going to have so many scholarships to hand out, chalk up another one for Chris Bell as well. Craig Crawford is 6'2-6'1 205 pounds with a verified 4.38 40 and could be a dual-threat QB, WR, Safety, possibly even a DWill type getting touches at WR/RB. He is already a four star prospect and is in the Rivals top 100. Crawford is likely going to be heading out to Wake's spring game...if they offer Crawford and Jordan Love is there and pulls the trigger on Wake I am going to be ridiculously pissed off. I'd really like both of them at Penn State, and the thought of Wake throwing a ship at Crawford and possibly beating out Penn State for Jordan Love would make me want to throw up.
I don't feel we can take anything for granted, he could very well be in the bag with a late offer but why risk it just to hold out and see what Forcier or the other 4 QBs do. We've gone two years without recruiting a QB and if Daryll Clark can start over Pat Devlin and the staff doesn't concern itself with the position they shouldn't start now - just be damn happy to get Crawford and hope you can lure a C.J. Brown and/or Forcier later.

Have a feeling this kid gets offered very soon. He claimed PSU is his outright leader in an update by Rivals. He has never done that before - claimed a leader. I doubt if an offer wasn't imminent, he does that.

For what position is PSU recruiting C.J. Crawford for? Heard talk of QB and Athlete (whatever that means nowadays).
