I can't say for sure -- perhaps they aren't seeing much interest on his side, or perhaps they are dosing their efforts knowing he isn't likely to commit early so they are planning to turn on the gas later when it matters. Except for new DB coach Buggs, all of PSU's coaches have a lot of experience playing the recruiting game, and though they can't win them all they still do pretty well even when Nevada predicts a 99.9 % chance Zordich will be a Buckeye.
I live in the Scranton area, and given the large number of ND fans around here I wouldn't be surprised if Shrive eats Lucky Charms for breakfast every morning just to feel Irish. And considering that Sam Young doesn't look like an All World OT as everyone expected it might be possible that the coaches see some other prospects they value nearly as much as Shrive.
I don't know anything, but there's my $0.02 anyway. |
