'11 VA OT Jay Whitmire (Official Offer)

Jay Whitmire - Yahoo! Sports
Scout.com: Jay Whitmire Profile

Offensive Lineman
Alexandria (VA) TC Williams

Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 290 pounds
Class: 2011 (High School)

Rivals.com Prospect Rankings

8Jay Whitmire
Alexandria (VA) T C Williams OL6-6/290

Already carrying college size, Whitmire is going to catch the eye of every college recruiter in his area not only because of his height, weight and solid build but also because he carries it so well. He's a two-way player who makes an impact on both sides and, when football season ends, he takes to the basketball court. An eventual four-year starter for the Titans, Whitmire brings a number of skills to the game complementing his size as he works well with his hands, plays with an explosive and aggressive nature and has enough athleticism that he lines up at tight end during the summer 7 x 7 passing competitions. Having already been approached by a number of Big East, ACC, and SEC programs, Whitmire will be a highly coveted recruit from the 2011 class.

Scout.com: Va. OL Adds UNC Offer

9/17/09

By Don Callahan. Jay is claiming official written offers from UNC, Pittsburgh, PSU, and Virginia. Moved some things around with school to attend camp at UNC, and talks about the experience...has also camped at PSU and UVA. Will attend the UNC-East Carolina game this weekend, and had already attended the UVA-William & Mary game as well as PSU-Syracuse.

By Brian Mohr. TC Williams HC Dennis Randolph reports that Jay has offers from Pitt, UNC, UVA, and PSU. Jay has been to Clemson, Pitt, Richmond, Virginia, and UNC for visits....coach talks about Jay and some of the other players he has being recruited...thinks schools within a four hour radius interest Jay quite a bit.
