Fox Chapel's Green hopes for healthy year - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Quote:
Dieffenbach has tried to turn Joe Paterno and Tom Bradley on to Green.

"They're watching me," Green said. "We went up there (last week). Coach Paterno said, 'You going to have a big year? You better, with (Dieffenbach) blocking for you. You shouldn't even get tackled.'"

Green said he would love to join Dieffenbach at Penn State, but he has a lot of work to do first.

"I haven't accomplished anything yet," he said.

Green: 'It was amazing' -'

The Penn State coaching staff welcomed in a pretty good group of recruits on unofficial visits for their game against Iowa on Saturday night. Included in the group was Penn State commitment Miles Dieffenbach, as well as his high school teammate Montay Green.

Green is a junior running back for Pittsburgh (Pa.) Fox Chapel. The 5-foot-11 and 225-pound Green has been a varsity starter since his freshman year.

Unfortunately, Green has battled injuries. His freshman season he had over 500 yards rushing before breaking his left ankle in five places during the fourth game of the season.

Green returned to the starting lineup his sophomore season, but went down with a broken bone in his hip near the middle of the season. He again had over 500 yards at the time of his injury.

This season, Green has over 600 yards and four touchdowns as Fox Chapel has won three of four games.

Kurelic’s Comment: If Green can stay healthy he has a chance to be one of the top prospects in Western Pennsylvania. He is someone Penn State fans will want to keep in mind.
