Figured I'd put this profile up, I was going to months ago but forgot. If Levi is anything like Jordan on and off the field, I hope he finds his way to PSU.

Agreed.
I know next year's class will be small, but I wouldn't object to taking Norwood as a grayshirt (ala Jordan).

Committed to PSU. Although this is probably our lowest rated recruit (whatever that means), as a PSU fan you can't be disappointed with this offer. Has anyone seen this kid play when he was up at SC?

Far from disappointed. A bit stunned that this was in the works this early and Levi has already made a PSU commitment, but I'm thrilled to have another Norwood in the fold...plus he is a willing greyshirt for those that whine about taking the commit of anyone not 4/5*, so if a coveted 4/5* wanted in at PSU and things were tight, Levi could count against '11 and not come in with the '10 class - ala Jordan.
Free board posters are already fretting about class rankings, yet they don't even seem to realize that taking the commit(s) of both/either 3* Scout.com in-state prospect(s) Dakota Royer/Alex Kenney would have the same result, and I definitely want those two at PSU. The rankings and crap matter, but they don't....stuff is fun to brag about and all that but at the same time you still have to do it on the field and you can never have enough football players.
Congratulations Levi, very happy to have you on board.

Glad to see Levi is going to PSU. It's true - if he's at all like Jordan, then we're in for a treat.
Has anyone else noticed the recruitment of taller WR's? I guess I was just used to Jordan Norwood, Butler and Williams all on the field and all under 6', but with Justin Brown, Adrian Coxson, Christian Kuntz, etc., most of the WR's they are bringing in seem to be quite tall. I'm fine with it, I just thought it was interesting.
EDIT: Also, a newbie question: what does this mean in terms of Kenney and Stills' recruitment? Is PSU looking for a third receiver? Are Kenney and Stills less likely to commit now that we have 2 WR's in this class and a ton from the 2009 class? Just curious, thanks.

I don't know for sure so I'll just speculate. You could view Levi as an '10 or '11 WR prospect, depending on whether he takes a GS or not.
Most don't want to view '10 CA WR Kenny Stills as an option until he steps foot on campus, and since he never did take a PSU unofficial visit but plans to take an official on PSU's dime, most consider him to be a probable USC commit or USC's to lose. Kenny Stills has always said very many nice things about PSU but he is a bit of a longer shot...no doubt the staff takes him if he makes a PSU official and wants to commit.
I don't think adding Levi Norwood to the '10 class, or having him GS, will have any negative impact on either Stills/Kenney. Stills, as a top 10 WR prospect with tons of offers isn't going to worry about Levi's PSU commit. And Levi was actually a teammate of Alex Kenney's for two years so they know each other.

Hm, I forgot about the GS, you're right. I'm assuming Norwood will be playing football as a senior?
Good call on Stills. From what I've read, it sounded like we had a decent, but not great shot at him. But it sounds like you're talking about what FrankBooth said...pay attention to what a prospect does instead of what he says. Although I would imagine it's more difficult to take an unofficial visit when you're in Cali vs. when you're in VA, PA, OH, etc.

Once Kenney commits to PSU, our WR recruiting may be finished.

Disregard 42...read some other comments on another board re: Stills indicating that perhaps PSU may no longer be an option for him.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to his website ranking this fall. Nobody besides the coaches really knows about him since he didn't play last fall, and I suppose there's little incentive for the services to start slobbering over him since he's already committed.

I agree with your analysis, but I wonder if the fact that his brother was also little regarded may draw some attention.
In addition, one of his teammates is a 5-star safety who is committed to Baylor (formerly Texas), so there might be some scouts at his games.
