I would be really surprised if Penn State offered...not just because it is early and there are a ton of OL prospects still on the board, but because the kid is in Ohio (Jay's recruiting region) and also because he is an Ohio State legacy. I'm not calling is dad a liar I'm just putting the pieces of the puzzle together...I would also say it seems odd considering we got two Pennsylvania Offensive Tackles in Eric Shrive (5*) and Mark Arcidiacono (3* but will likely be a 4*).

I don't think they are making it up...father is retired Air Force and is not new to the recruiting process. And PSU has had far harder to explain offers out there. Sam's current offer list is:

Well like I said...I'm not calling his dad a LIAR and your post proves that point (AF) but I guess I just wasn't a believer. Of course it is hard to believe when the kid puts Cincinnati above Penn State and then we get a 5* OT but I guess thats the way it is. I remember Chris Snook visiting Cincinnati and saying their weight room is more impressive than tOSU's; even posted the thread on the Penn State Scout Audibles board which riled people up so kids say crazy things.   |

What is it with me. I say no chance Shrive comes to PSU and what does he do? Now Longo gets offered after saying he will be waiting a while for that offer from PSU.  |

Lichtenfels loves this kid, FWIW. Some of the good posters on TAP also love his video.
I figured the kid wasn't getting an offer if he came away empty handed from the Junior Day. Oh well.

What a bummer to already know he likes Cincinnati more than PSU.
But who knows? Maybe the offer makes his visit to PSU seem a lot better in retrospect.

My understanding is the PSU offer vaulted them to the top of the list...it is still his intention to try and earn an OSU offer at camp (can't blame an Ohio kid for trying).
