By Alkire...James received a written offer form PSU and accepted it two weeks ago. Talks about his decision to pledge to the Nittany Lions.

Hey guys.
Since we share a lot of common targets, how do you think this impacts your board at DL?

Who knew?
As far as DL recruiting is concerned, it will have no bearing on our DE recruiting, i.e. Crawford. I know you guys feel good about Crawford, but so do the OSU guys...and, quite honestly, I'd be very surprised if he didn't end up at PSU.
Now as for DT's I'm more concerned with Zach Kerr...although I am hearing this will have no bearing on his recruitment.
I have pretty much given up on Reggie Ellis. Unfortunately, I don't think Rutgers gets him either.

Think this is very telling relative to Edwards and maybe Ellis. I'd be very shocked if this had anything to do with Crawford or Kerr, considering PSU is a heavy leader for both.
This offer puzzels me. I hope the staff knows what its doing. But, then again, PSU has been known to take fliers in every class. Terry might fit the mold. Hopefully a greyshirt.

OSU does have me worried about Crawford. My hope was that you guys would fill up with Massaro. Recent backing off of several of our second-tier DL targets makes me think Schiano thinks he can get Crawford or Kerr.
VT is still the big threat with Kerr, if they make a big push I'll be worried. UNC is the sleeper.
Ellis remains a longshot, it will be very hard to beat Illinois.

I'm not sure OSU should be the biggest of your worries for Crawford. Add a P instead of the O and that is Rutgers' competition. Jack LOVES PSU and mentions it in every update and its not just PSU updates. Besides, he is supposedly deciding end of August and no OSU offer. I'm not sure if he got one at this stage, it would really change things that much either. Deciding in late August and has already made plans for an official at PSU for ND game and its his only official visit lined up. Right now, I'm not even concerned with VPI for Kerr. If he makes it up this week for a PSU practice, like he originally intended to do, this one COULD be over. Things can change though.
I think Massaro has an offer contingent on what Kerr and Crawford do. I would have thought he would have pulled the trigger by now ... something is holding him back - maybe the PSU coaching staff. The Terry verbal might have killed Massaro going to PSU.
Just opinions

Don't repeat this over at the OSU Scout site. You'll get the proverbial "flamer" treatment.

True...Crawford going anywhere but PSU would suprise me at this point. Rutgers seems to be the main competition as long as OSU doesn't offer. Even if OSU does offer I still think he ends up in Happy Valley.
