'11 PA DB Terrell Chestnut (Official Offer)
Scout.com: Terrell Chestnut Profile
Pottstown (PA) Pottsgrove
Height: 6-foot
Weight: 165 pounds

Eight interceptions as a freshman free safety is impressive and so is the fact that next year, Terrell Chestnut will also start at quarterback.
“He looks like a senior playing out there,” Pottsgrove head coach Rick Pennypacker said.
For his efforts, Chestnut was named to the Pennsylvania 3A All-State team, a feat extremely rare for freshmen.
Pennypacker said that he does not like to tout players, but believed that Chestnut would be a big time Division I-A recruit by the time he’s a senior.

Just a small sample of what Terrell can do on the football field.

Every good combine has its share of talented underclassmen and this one will be no different. (Pottsgrove/Pa.) is home to two very talented youngsters Maika Polamalu and Terrell Chestnut. This dynamic duo is out to make a name for themselves.

Scout.com: Chestnut Puts Up Gaudy Numbers
7/16
By Matt Alkire. Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Villanova, PSU, and West Virginia have shown the most interest....didn't camp anywhere because of track this summer but plans to make visits in the fall. Really likes Pittsburgh right now but has yet to visit, he plans to do so this upcoming season for a game....says the Pittsburgh coaches are good with him. Also likes PSU, loves the environment, and says the coaches have been really good with him...he gets to hear about PSU from Al Polamalu.

This is why I should have been made at least partial mod a long time ago...so comments like that can be deleted. Hope that doesn't sit out there too long......

I can't delete the post, but since it isn't his first "recruit-bashing" infraction, I banned him. If any of the other mods could delete the post, it'd be much appreciated.

By Mark Pszonak. Terrell says he received his faxed scholarship offer from Pittsburgh and that he expects Rutgers, Villanova, PSU, Buffalo, Temple, Syracuse, and a couple of more scholarships to arrive some time this week.

Scout.com: Chestnut Scores First Offers
9/7/09
By Matt Alkire. Received the written offers from Pittsburgh and Rutgers but also says he hasn't checked his mailbox in a few days....rushed for 89 yards and a TD, threw for 46 yards and another TD in an opening game win. Terrell has yet to visit Pittsburgh but talks about his relationship with the coach recruiting him...says he loved it at Rutgers over the summer when he visited and feels that they take care of their players academically as well as athletically.

I didn't know Terrell was PSU RB Brent Carter's (Pottsgrove HS) cousin...Grosz did a look at '11 and is saying that Terrell is heavily leaning towards PSU and claims a written PSU offer.
I don't know if him leaning towards PSU is true, but I hope so...that would be very sweet and possibly explain why we haven't been offering any true CBs for the '10 class.
I also want to see us look up Polamalu but he hasn't claimed a written offer yet, not sure where he would play, but he is a very good ATH and you can never have too many.

Scout.com: Pottsgrove Pitches Shutout (FREE)
Quote:

Quarterback Terrell Chestnut was easily the MVP of the game, leading the first-team offense to five touchdowns in the first three quarters. By the time Coach Pennypacker put in his second team the score was already 32-0. Chestnut had a few dazzling runs on the wet grass, carrying the ball nine times for 139 yards and four touchdowns. He only threw two passes, but completed both of them for 33 yards. He did fumble once, however he then forced a fumble on the defensive side of the ball to go along with his many tackles.

By Sean Fitz. Terrell has offers from RU, WVU, and Pittsburgh...interest coming from BC, UNC, LSU, UVA, ND, PSU, Ohio State, Ohio and others. Has not made visits yet this year but has been to some local schools previously; PSU, RU, Temple, Villanova, and plans to visit schools soon. Terrell wanted to visit PSU for the Iowa game but isn't sure he'll be able to make it...should be visiting PSU within the next few weeks....he really likes PSU.

Scout.com: Honored to Receiver Offer
9/28/09
By Matt Alkire. Terrell says he is really excited about the PSU offer, and shocked that he was offered this early....says it is a great honor because PSU is a great school, has great tradition, and great coaches. Talks about the last time he visited PSU, coach Mike McQueary and coach Joe Paterno....while he couldn't make it for the Iowa game with Maika, he'll attend the Minnesota or Ohio State game, if not both.
