On Thursday, Annandale (N.J.) North Hunterdon tight end Kevin Haplea told Nittany Network he will be in State College on Saturday.

Scout.com: Haplea Interested in FSU
4/28
By Nate Greer. Kevin says Florida, LSU, Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee, and UVA are evaluating him and may offer....Kevin talks extensively about FSU, talking with Coach Coley (FSU), who visited his school recently....interested in FSU and plans to visit FSU, Miami (FL), and Florida in June. Will make a decision whenever it feels right, no top 5 but he has schools he is high on and would like to make a commitment and enjoy his senior season.

Annandale, N.J., North Hunterdon tight end Kevin Haplea was scheduled to be at the camp, but was nowhere to be found. I managed to reach his coach later in the day and learned that Haplea cancelled because his high school baseball team had a make-up game for Saturday, and he felt bad about already missing several games for recruiting visits.
Unfortunately for Haplea, at 1 p.m., his baseball game was postponed.
North Hunterdon coach Josh Mattes also told me that Haplea had about 15 written offers and that he believed Penn State was at the top of his list of schools.

Haplea thinking July decision -
7/3
Quote:
By Bill Kurelic, NN Recruiting Analyst
bkurelic@nittanynetwork.com
July 3, 2009
Annandale (N.J.) North Hunterdon tight end Kevin Haplea was recently back in the state of Pennsylvania, though not to visit Penn State this time.
“My high school team was there for a 7-on-7 against some teams from Pennsylvania,” Haplea said. “It was at Bethlehem Liberty. It went pretty good. For our first time we did pretty well.”
Haplea was in State College in April for the Blue-White Spring Game. He also visited Penn State both in early March and again later towards the end of the month.
There is no doubt Haplea has a strong interest in the Nittany Lions. He has 23 scholarship offers including Penn State, Pitt, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, North Carolina, Louisville, Syracuse, West Virginia, Clemson, Rutgers and Purdue.

Kurelic’s Comment: The Nittany Lions have been on a roll, landing three new commitments in the past week. I don’t think Haplea decides before the end of the week, but when he does decide, I think the Nittany Lions have a pretty good shot.
