Positive. I believe the official quote was "there's a long way to go". Apparently, the entire Stokes family has been pushing Floyd to UM a lot, but UM fans have been advised that there's a ton of ground to make up.

"Florida is definitely getting an official visit," Floyd said. "One of the west coast schools, out of Stanford, UCLA and USC will definitely get an official."

Bill Kurelic: It's no surprise that the region's top linebackers were the showstoppers at Penn State - ESPN
Quote:
Cream of the crop
Sharrif Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) was equally as impressive as Royer -- the two worked in the same group. Floyd showed strength, power and an intense attitude. The only offensive lineman who stood much of a chance against Floyd on Saturday was Under Armour All-American Miles Dieffenbach (Pittsburgh/Fox Chapel). There has been some debate as to whether Floyd will play defensive end or tackle in college. Based on his performance at Penn State, put him down as an interior lineman at the next level, and he has the tools to be a very good one.

Which way is he leaning now? PSU needs a couple good DTs in this class. They mostly got projects in last year's class.

Based on his supposed family situation, I seriously doubt any of the west coast schools will be in the mix. USC coaching staff doesn't give a rats as* about the kid himself. Ask Green, Hazelton and all the others who were foolish enough to believe that slime ball.
I see this as a PSU v. Rutgers thing. Michigan had better come with more than the Stokes family to secure him. He needs a role model and someone to look after him. I'm not sure Michigan's staff will. We know Larry Johnson is truly a role model and someone these kids look up to. We shall see.

All I know is a I feel a lot better about PSU/Floyd after this weekend. Seems like we may have a legit shot.

Bill Kurelic: Overheard in Happy Valley - ESPN
Quote:
Floyd decides on one official visit
Defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington), one of the stars of the camp, has 18 scholarship offers including Penn State, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Pitt, West Virginia, Illinois, Boston College, Rutgers, UCLA and Stanford. Floyd said he will take all five official visits before selecting a college and has decided on at least one of his trips.
"Penn State will definitely be an official visit," Floyd said. "I want to see everything they have to offer."

PSU you guys are absolutely killing right now. Even if these official visits never come to fruition, kids are definitely buying your pitches.

Like I have maintained, it's a shame the staff took four to five fliers in this incoming class, otherwise, we could have done more damage with this class - potential major damage.

Floyd has PSU in top five - [w/ video interview]
5/5

Without question, one of the most impressive performers at the NIKE Football Training Camp at Penn State on Saturday was Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd.
The 6-foot-3 and 298-pound Floyd passed the ‘look test’ at the NFTC and was equally impressive as he went through drills. Floyd is a powerful young man, but also showed he has good moves and is sound technique-wise. Floyd was able to dominate most of his competition over the weekend.
Floyd has been a varsity starter on both sides of the line since the beginning of his sophomore season. He has played defensive tackle, offensive tackle and guard.
Floyd has scholarship offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Florida, Michigan, Boston College, Rutgers, UCLA, Temple and some others.
