Not sure what the deal is here...his recruitment is pretty quiet & with the exception of the Baltimore combine I haven't seen anything on him. I've seen PSU/Stamps thrown around a few times this past year or so, and I'm almost positive he has been to camps at PSU.

His Recruiting is going well and he did receive a Nike Camp invite but I'm not sure if he's has decided to come up there on May 2 or not. He has no offers yet but over 25 D-I schools have shown some strong interest in him via mail and phonecalls. Being that Larry Johnson is a former coach at McDonough and AJ Wallace is an alum, Penn State is a strong possiblity. He will be a member of Team Maryland at the 7 on 7 Passing Academy Camp held at Rutgers on Feb. 28th Unofficial visits have been taken to Maryland and Richmond, last week's visit to Wake was cancelled due to a stomach virus. Schools showing interest are Rutgers, UCLA, Georgia, LSU, Wake, BC, FSU, Oregon, Northwestern, Mich. State, Duke,UNC, Miami, Arizona, Temple, Notre Dame, Clemson, South Carolina, UVA, Clemson, Richmond, Maryland, Villanova, Tenn and a few others. I hope this shed a little light..any moe questions ask me.
SAT and ACT are scheduled for this Spring but were taken as a Soph.

It has been posted somewhere that this kid doesn't have much interest, if any in PSU.

Oh really and where was that posted? I think it may be the other way around, we haven't seen any PSU mail at home or at the school. However, he has no favorites or top 10 list at this moment but when it comes available, we will be sure to post it.

Sorry to hear that, maybe PSU is dragging their feet on this one, because it certainly seems that a lot of attention has NOT been paid to MD at this point. Good luck to DeVante, I posted the thread for 3 reasons; 1) heard PSU interest and/or DeVante interest, 2) I'd like to have DeVante at PSU, and 3) One of the scout guys told me that he had planned to see DeVante at an event but he wasn't sure the info got relayed to DeVante.
What UB posted is certainly true, it has been said that he would prefer warmer weather, and that while a lot of MD kids go to PSU, DeVante would like to break out and be around some different people in college.

Thanks for the well wishes but I can honestly say that he would jump an an opportunity to wear that all white helmet and play for Joe Pa. Penn State is a very viable option because it keeps him close to home, has good tradition, good academics and a balanced offense.
As far as te Nike Camp goes, DeVante is trying to decide between the two closest venues to attend. Penn State or UVA( whom has made one trip to his school already)
In the meantime, he is practicing with the hand picked squad known as Team Maryland for the big 7 on 7 tourney on the 28th of this month at Rutgers(another school showing much interest). If you guys are close by, come on down to Rutgers and watch some football. I'll check with DeVante to see if he has established any communications with PSU and see if he can send a highlight package out to them...Take care guys

Scout.com: Recruiting process picking up for Stamps
8/3
By John Talty. DeVante talks about UNC being one big family and how there are good people down there...he has family in the area and loves the atmosphere at UNC. DeVante has impressed at the Maryland Crab Bowl combine and talks about what it means to play in the game, his desire to win, and always giving everything he has no matter what it is he is doing.
