PSU coach K. Buggs has offered Kenny verbally, and told him that a written scholarship offer will be extended after the '09 NLOID. California has also verbally offered, and has said the same, Kenny will be extended a written scholarship some time after the '09 signing day.
Seems like Kenny is hoping to leave Cali and experience another part of the country, so PSU may have a shot here. I had heard that Buggs made a favorable impression while recruiting in Cali, so that could help...although PSU coaches have yet to visit Kenny. Kenny's father, Kenny Still Sr., played football collegiately at Wisconsin and was also an NFL player for a couple of years.

Riley generating buzz - ESPN
Quote:
One of the receivers in the West next year will be La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, Calif.) standout Kenny Stills. Still had a big junior season and is hearing from schools from all over the country.
Stills caught 62 balls for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns a year ago to earn all-section and 1st team all-state underclass honors from CalHiSports.com. He plays basketball and also runs track with personal bests of 10.5 in the 100m and 22.0 in the 200m.
"I'm currently hearing from Boise State, Colorado, Stanford, Cal, USC, Oregon State, Oregon State, Penn State, Alabama, Vanderbilt and several others," Stills said. "I have offers from Boise State, Colorado, Penn State and Stanford right now.
"At this time, I don't have a top five or a favorite school. I'm open to everyone and just looking for whatever schools catch my eye. I'll take my visits and take my time with the recruiting process."
Stills father, Ken Sr. was an all-Big 10 defensive back at Wisconsin and played with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in the late 80s.
Academically, Stills is carrying a 3.2 GPA and will major in Communications. He plans to attend the NIKE Camp at USC in April.

Kenny now has his written PSU offer. Yesterday at the FBU camp in San Diego he won MVP for his camp performance. Will take official visit to PSU.

2/16
By Brandon Huffman. PSU has offered and San Diego State has given a verbal offer. Will attend USC's Junior Day this weekend, and possibly Stanford's after that. Will also attend the Scout/Badger/New Level 7-7 Passing Tournament in Las Vegas next month. Now has offers from Boise State, Colorado, PSU, Stanford, San Diego State and believes that Cal and Oregon may be next.

Stills is a very intriguing recruit due to his versatility and pedigree. Seems to have some similarity to D'Anton Lynn, and I hope the outcome is the same!

ESPN.com - Stills hoping to attract USC
2/25
Quote:
It's an interesting year for receivers in the West region next year. Robert Woods (Gardena, Calif./ Serra) stands alone as the top player on the board but the battle for the No. 2 receiver is up for grabs and Kenny Stills (Carlsbad, Calif./ La Costa Canyon) is making a strong claim for that honor.
Stills earned CalHiSports.com 1st team all-state underclass honors a year ago after catching 62 balls for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns. He's a big play threat with the ability to stretch the field and is a talented safety on the other side of the ball as well.
Scholarship offers have come in from Boise State, Colorado, Penn State, Stanford and San Diego State but there is one school out there that Stills is really hoping to gain an offer from.
"I really liked USC a lot, that's where I want to go," Stills said. "I went to their Junior Day and had a great time but they haven't offered me yet and want me to come to their summer camp before they do.
"I'll go there and compete but at the same time, it's a little disappointing because I feel like I'm as good as some of the players they have already offered. I think I can compete with anyone and could potentially be the best player out there.
"I'm not discouraged though. USC is a great school and I understand they can be selective. The players and the coaches were all great with me and it really is a big family at SC."
Stills said he wants to take a few more visits in the spring/summer but doesn't have anything locked in yet. "I want to go to Stanford and maybe the Spring game at Penn State," Stills said. "I don't know yet though, I'm still trying to figure everything out."

Stills: 'I'm in love with Penn State' -'
Quote:

One might think convincing a star California wide receiver to leave the West Coast's warm climate for Happy Valley winters would be impossible. But such is not the case with Kenny Stills.
"I've already told my parents I want to get away from the West Coast," said Stills, a junior at Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon. "Schools farther away have the advantage."
Enter Penn State.
"I've been a huge fan of Penn State for the last few years," Stills said. "Everything I' seen and heard about Penn State sounds amazing."

So in the ESPN article yesterday he said "I really liked USC a lot, that's where I want to go" and now he's saying he wants to go out of state and loves PSU.
I don't think he meant South Carolina, so there's clearly some BS here. I suppose the next articles about him will be saying how he loves UCLA, Nebraska, or any other school that pops into his head.
