By Josh McCuistion. Kenny talks Oklahoma...if you are a WR that wants to make plays, Oklahoma has to be your number one. Says he has been talking with PSU lately....was told spots are filling up, and it doesn't look like there is one for him. Kenny says PSU handled it correctly, he isn't mad about it, and it is both his loss, and PSU's loss.....expects contact from PSU again and he'll see. Plans to use his five visits.

well I don't think it was PSU's fault there wasn't a spot, it was Stills lack of interest. I think it's more of a loss for him too, we snatched up 2 of the best signal callers in this class.

Here's the way I look at it - PSU knows how many schollies they have left to give. They know their position needs. They've identified their wish list prospects. They have a pretty good idea which of these guys has shown the greatest interest in PSU.
I think at this point they realized that although Stills has expressed a lot of interest in PSU...Has he ever come out to PSU to visit? Stills must've seen how PSU's class has been filling up and plus I'm sure the coaches had already expressed that they had a limited # of schollies available.
Looks like Fortt is going to verbal on Monday (hopefully). I think we have a good shot at either Thorton and/or Floyd.
It's pretty much like Stills said. Unfortunately it looks like the ship has sailed and although he loses out on coming to PSU...we lose out too b/c he would've been a great talent to have. I'm just glad it was done the right way, AND that Stills realizes that.
Can't blame Stills for taking his time and evaluating the best place to go for his talents and education. However you also can't expect a college football program to wait forever for a possibility...and it looks like Stills realized that.

well, he seemed like a long shot all along, so rather than holding out hopes for him I'm glad the class has filled up with some other kids I didn't think they'd get like Easley, Olaniyan, Zwinak, and Bolden.

Washington State making a push in the Bay Area - ESPN

Stills making changes
Wideout Kenny Stills (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) picked up a new offer Thursday morning and is making some changes to his list.
Stills has already taken one official visit to Tennessee and will take an unofficial visit this weekend to Cal to watch the Bears take on USC.
"I'm excited, it should be a great game," Stills said. "Cal has been recruiting me hard from the beginning and they have always been in my top five. Right now, the schools I'm most interested in are Michigan, Florida, UCLA, Cal and Oklahoma and that's in no order."
The Wolverines just offered Stills on Thursday and likely take the place of a former Big 10 team on his list.
"I had Penn State high up there and was going to take an official visit there but it doesn't look like that will happen," Stills said. "They emailed me and said they're running out of spots so it looks like we're going in a different direction and that's fine.
"I still have Oklahoma and Florida set and when I set Michigan, that will be four with one left to go. I work out with Tate (Forcier) in the summer and he's doing great at Michigan. I was excited by that offer and look forward to learning more about them.
"I would love to hear from Miami and Texas as well. My coach is trying to make contact with the staff over there. Texas has always been kind of a dream school and if they offered, I would probably jump on it. I've always liked Miami too and would love to take a visit out there. Right now, I'm just trying to find the best overall fit for me and after I'm done with my visits, hopefully I'll know where that is."
One school to watch out for here is Florida as the Gators have made a strong impression on a handful of SoCal players.
"We all talk, we know what's going on," Stills said. "Ronald (Powell) is high on Florida and Josh (Shaw) loved his visit. I know Dietrich likes them a lot too. They're coming out to my game tomorrow night and that shows a lot of commitment on their part since I'm clear across the country.
"I'm not saying we're all going to be some big package deal or anything but those are some great players and it would be fun if we could all play together. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting the Swamp because I've heard a lot of great things and I'm anxious to see it firsthand myself."

Stills wasn't a long shot. He had legit interest ... staff didn't want him for some reason. Stills could have been in this class if staff wanted him.
Staff continues to say they want to make inroads in states like California and Florida, but don't follow through on it because its too hard.
I like the thinking ... take Christian Kuntz one year and turn away Kenny Stills the next.

Yeah -- just like he has legit interest in a dozen other schools, and his favorite on any day depends on which direction the wind is blowing. You make it sound like it was obvious a year ago which kids would commit in this class, which is pretty funny after seeing some of your own all-knowing predictions such as Shrive to ND just days before he committed to PSU.
