June 10, 2009
Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon star Kenny Stills is one of the country’s premier wide receivers. He has the list of scholarship offers to prove it.
“I have about 17 offers now,” Stills said. “Some pretty big ones have come in now like Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Nebraska.”
Stills already had offers from Penn State, USC, Cal, Washington, Colorado, UCLA, Stanford, Boise State and some others.
“I somewhat have a top 10,” Still said. “It’s Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, USC, UCLA, Cal, Washington, Penn State, Colorado and Nebraska.”

Scout.com: Stills Goes on Weekend Road Trip
6/10
By Brandon Huffman. Maryland has offered. Kenny took visits with friend/prospect Davon Dunn to Fresno State, Cal, and UCLA...Kenny says he isn't sure Fresno State is for him, he loved it at Cal and loved the coaches, and spent most of his time at UCLA with Rick Neuheisel. Plans to narrow his list at the end of July but currently has a top 7 of Cal, Florida, PSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC.

Scout.com: Stills intrigued by Buffs
6/11
By Kyle Ringo. Kenny says he is over 20 offers now, with Maryland, North Carolina, and Michigan being the most recent....talks about finding the best school for him with the most need, definitely thinks playing early is important. Talks about his interest in Colorado and the unique recruitment by HC Dan Hawkins. Looking for a college town environment, says he is drawn to PSU because of tradition, and says he has a lot of respect for HC Joe Paterno, the PSU fan base, and loves everything PSU does.

Wide receiver Kenny Stills from Encinitas (Calif.) LaCosta Canyon said in late February he wanted to leave the West Coast for college. However, during the spring he softened his stance and said he was considering offers from a number of Pac-10 schools including USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington and Stanford.
Now that the middle of the summer has arrived, Stills says he'll still the West Coast schools on his list, but is not planning to make an official visit to any of them.
Stills is planning to take an official visit to Penn State.

Kurelic’s Comment: The fact that Stills has known from the beginning he will take an official visit to Penn State is encouraging. However, landing the star receiver won’t be an easy task for Joe Paterno.

It won't be easy for Joe to do because Joe doesn't want to do it.
Stills is a great prospect, and he had legit interest, but JoePa just isn't sold on recruiting CA. After Forcier and Stills, my guess is the experiment is done.
Too bad...we might be making more trips out to CA (to the Rose Bowl)...

Amani Purcell packing his bags and going home a few years ago probably didn't help either. I believe it was one of the reasons the team needed to plug Tim Shaw in at stand up d-end.

I think they'll keep trying to cherry pick talent out of So Cal -- saying they won't because of Stills and Forcier is like saying they wouldn't keep trying to get kids out of Texas after missing on Ashton Youboty.
What's more likely to me is JoePa is too stubborn to give up so easily and he knows they miss on kids all the time; he wouldn't have put in the effort to open doors in So Cal without expecting some misses while having it pay off eventually.

Scout.com: LSU is Interested
7/20
By Shea Dixon. LSU coach DJ McCarthy has told Kenny the scholarship offer is in the mail. Kenny says he has always had interest in LSU, Alabama, and Georgia, so now that LSU is getting serious he will have to look into setting something up (visit). Will be in Florida for a camp this Thursday then resume team workouts once he returns. Says he has a lot of interest in west coast schools but is also really into other schools, mentioning LSU, PSU and Oklahoma...will have to see the schools and keep an open mind.

Scout.com: Kenny Stills is flying high
7/27
By Scott Schrader. Kenny says his interest in USC is really high and although he claims no school leads, he says that he is making sure USC needs him rather then just wanting him...likes the way the program is run and the tradition. Talks about how the contact with USC has picked up, potential official visits (though not set) to Oklahoma for the Tulsa game, PSU against Ohio State, and Florida. Looking to decide in late November and enroll early after having taken his five official visits, and possibly even six officials if he pays his own way.

Stills setting up visits
Standout wide receiver Kenny Stills (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) recently set up his first official visit and has his time frame for when he'll be making his commitment as well.
You won't find a bigger personality than Stills and outside of Robert Woods, you won't find a better receiver out West either. On the recruiting front, Stills said he would like to make his college choice in early December and will take all five of his trips during the season.
"I set up my first visit to Florida [Nov. 28] when they play Florida State," Stills said. "I have all the dates in mind right now and have called the schools but Florida was the only school I've gotten a hold of so far.
"I called Oklahoma and Penn State as well and my 4th and 5th trip will be among four schools. I'm looking at either Oregon or Michigan for one visit and LSU or Tennessee for my last. I'll take an unofficial visit to USC and Cal as well because they're close enough that I don't need to take an official visit to either school."
