The gist we're getting is that we don't have to worry, but I think the realist understands that there is some cause for concern.

Some schools, namely Florida, are pushing for Coxson. He's going to take some visits

By Sean Fitz. Adrian will be taking visits just to explore, but says it really isn't a big deal because he is still committed to PSU...says pretty much all the schools that have offered are still recruiting him. Hasn't talked to PSU coach Larry Johnson or any of the other PSU coaches about taking visits, but says he'll also be taking an official to PSU and it shouldn't be a problem because it is up to him...just weighing his options.

Florida already pulled the negative recruiting file out on PSU with Floyd. Why not with Coxson. If he buys what Florida is selling, he is an idiot. Meyer is a scumbag.

Coxson looking around -
8/27
Quote:
By Bill Kurelic, NN Recruiting Analyst
bkurelic@nittanynetwork.com
August 27, 2009
Baltimore (Md.) City College wide receiver Adrian Coxson committed to Penn State on April 30, five days after attending the Nittany Lions’ spring game and two days before making the trip back to State College for the Nike Football Training Camp.
However, four months later Coxson says he is going to visit other schools.
“Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, all of them are still pretty much recruiting me,” Coxson said. “A lot of schools are still recruiting me. I’ll visit some schools. I’m not sure when or which ones. I’ll know in the next week or so.”

Kurelic’s Comment: Losing Coxson, who is the No. 103 prospect on the ESPNU 150, would be a definite blow to Joe Paterno’s 2010 recruiting class. I think in the end he signs with the Nittany Lions, but anytime a prospect makes an official visit elsewhere it gives at least a little cause for concern.

Sorry for the late reply. . .
That's an impressive list of schools that are trying to poach Adrian, he must be the goods. I sure hope he ends up at Penn St.

Scout.com: Coxson Plays Quarterback May Take Visits
9/5/09
By John Wallpher. Adrian completed six passes (threw 2 TDs) and rushed for 253 yards as well as 1 rushing TD in the first game of his senior season....Adrian says he knows how he feels about PSU, he knows the coaches and campus pretty well, but that he never really did look at some of his options when other schools offered. Adrian says he is definitely committed to PSU, that nothing is for sure yet as far as visits and he doesn't even know which schools he would visit, but probably will visit a few to make sure he made the right decision.

He's an idiot for being interested in a school that's won two of the past three titles and that put two receivers in the top four rounds of the NFL draft?
I can't think if a single significant NFL WR from UF this past decade or two...maybe I am missing someone huge and will look like an idiot with this statement. As far as PSU...OJ McDuffie, Bobby Engram, Bryant Johnson, Joe Jurevicious....
And as far as putting two WRs in the top four rounds of the NFL draft, as another PSU poster mentioned, PSU did the same exact thing.

PSU just had two receivers go in the top three rounds so that's not a comparison that's going to hurt them. However, when you're the hottest thing in the hottest conference and you can boast 2 NC titles in 3 yrs, you've got a very tempting lure at the end of your line.
One thing for these young guys to remember though, when you're dealing with one of the super programs, they've likely got a 5* or two ahead of you on the depth chart and there's going to be a 5* or two right behind you in your sophomore year.
So, while I'm sure the sales pitch is intoxicating, keep in mind you better be able to walk on water and remain injury free doing so cuz you can get lost in the shuffle very easily. A recent example is Aaron Corp at U$C. He was gearing up for what I'm sure he thought was a Run for the Roses and now it looks like he's more likely to get sent to the glue factory. Done. Unless Barkley sh*ts the bed. . .done. Another couple examples from U$C that Penn St. fans might remember are Broderick Green and Vidal Hazelton.
All that glitters is not gold young man. Beware.

I wouldn't want to go to Florida as a receiver unless I was a Percy Harvin type player. That being said, I think he won't take any visits. He sounds like Givens last year. When he gives a time and place, I'll start worrying.

Dude, I equate Meyer in the same ilk as your head coach. They don't care one bit about the person, only the player. Urban couldn't care or less if you attend class. It's not like RichRod's grad rate at WVU was stellar.
