Someone needs to edit this so "written offer" appears in the header.

IMO, Bob is not the most "in" guy re: PSU.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next weekend. Perhaps the staff wants to see what Hailes does before letting Jones into the class, thus leaving room for Floyd (if what Bob L. is saying has truth to it). IMO, take both Hailes and Jones if you can, and work on Floyd for the long haul.

Isn't Jones listed as a OL/DT? As opposed to Easley who is listed as a DE? It's sort've apples and oranges isn't it?

I thought about that after I made my post. Good point.

I'll be extremely pissed if DaQuan Jones isn't a '10 PSU signee. Easley may be the next Maurice Evans type with the versatility to move to DT, but Jones could play on the OLine or DLine. I don't think Bob L. is right on this, at least I hope he isn't. I'd much rather PSU say screw a 4th OLineman and take DaQuan as an OLine/DLine recruit. Than you can figure out what is going on with Easley, Royer, Floyd, Hailes on the DLine.
C - Miles Dieffenbach
OG - Luke Graham
OT - Tom Ricketts
'09 signee(s) OT Eric Shrive, OT Adam Gress, OG/OT Nate Cadogan, OG/OT Mark Arcidiacono, C Ty Howle...and OT DeOn'Tae Pannell is only a RS SO for this upcoming season). That gives us two centers, four pure tackles (including Pannell), 2 OG/OTs and one definite OG in Luke Graham (too athletic/good for pulls to be anywhere other than OG....once he adds the size/strength).

This one makes no sense whatsoever. One is a DT while the other is a DE. PSU needs at least two DTs in this class. This is unless Floyd is in the bag (don't think so just yet) and staff prefers Hailes and they get a good vibe from him.
I guess we will see this weekend when Jones is supposed to visit and probably was going to end his recruitment.
Turning away a kid like Jones, who you probably have in the bag in lieu of Easley, who might not be in the bag is a dangerous game. Haven't I said the staff is going to regret taking those fliers in last year's class?

Mr. Jones headed for State College -

Some outstanding prospects will be in State College this weekend for Penn State’s football camp. One of them is defensive lineman DaQuan Jones from Johnson City, N.Y.
The 6-foot-4 and 300-pound Jones is one of the Empire State’s top prospects. Jones has started at either defensive end or tackle, as well as offensive tackle, the past two seasons. He made 63 tackles during his junior season. Jones is being recruited as a defensive tackle.
“I have 10 (scholarship) offers,” Jones said. “I have Penn State, Boston College, Maryland, Syracuse, Illinois, Rutgers, Connecticut and Pitt.

Kurelic’s Comment: The Nittany Lions have a good shot at landing this run stopping force in the middle of the line. They would love to wrap his recruitment up this weekend with a commitment.
