'10 MD ATH Zack Zwinak (Penn State Signee)
Rivals
Athlete
Frederick (MD) Linganore
Ht: 6-foot-1
Wt: 225 lbs
Forty: 4.55 secs
Class: 2010 (High School)
Top Juniors Impressive for Linganore - Josh Barr's Recruiting Insider
Quote:
Offensive tackle Rob Havenstein and fullback Zach Zwinak already hold scholarship offers from Maryland and Coach Rick Conner thinks that wide receiver Ryan Dixon also is a potential scholarship players, among others.
Perhaps the most impressive of the bunch on Friday was Zwinak, who is listed at 6-2 and 238 pounds. He had the speed to outrun smaller defenders and the brawn to push other would-be tacklers aside. You don't see too many fullbacks with major-college offers as juniors.

The only question is now - how long does he wait to commit to VT?

March 3, 2009
The Nittany Lions had great success recruiting the state of Maryland for their 2009 recruiting class. In fact, Joe Paterno signed more prospects from Maryland than he did from Pennsylvania.
Paterno and his staff are working Maryland hard for their 2010 recruiting class and one of their targets is Frederick (Md.) Linganore star Zach Zwinak.

BlueWhiteIllustrated.com - Rivals.com Five-Star Showdown Hot 11
Quote:
ATH Zach Zwinak, 6-2, 230, Frederick (Md.) Linganore
ASSETS: Zwinak has good size and is a thick, strong kid. He's a versatile athlete on film but prefers running back so he worked out with the offense at the event. He has quickness to him for a bigger back and he made an acrobatic catch showing a high level of athleticism.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: He's not a burner at all so if he plays offense in college it will be as a fullback who can catch the ball out of the backfield. Despite making one of the best catches at the event, he also dropped a pass that hit him in the hands.
WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE AT CAMP: Zwinak's size and athletic ability is impressive and he moves laterally a bit better than expected. He is clearly a versatile athlete being able to compete at running back at his size and he's a hard worker who hustles. He laid out to make his best catch, not worrying about potential injury.
CONCLUSION: Zwinak wants to be a running back in college and a camp without pads and hitting is no way to determine whether or not he can pull that off or not at 6-2 and 230 pounds. He's clearly a very good athlete who moves well and is a bit of a no-miss prospect because of his versatility.
