If by "the kid from Lancaster" you mean Paul Jones (who is actually from around Pittsburgh), I don't think they would go after this kid over Jones but they probably want 2 QBs -- after Clark leaves the only QB on scholie would be Newsome, so depth is a real problem.

And if there is another QB from Lancaster, he could get an offer too.

Yeah Smith, a lot of mid-level BE programs are sniffing around him. I think we will only take Brandon Hill, but Smith is the guy getting the next highest amount of talk so far. There are a couple scrambling QBs around too.

I would think PSU takes two QBs for 2010. It needs two next year. Paul Jones is number one target and that could be a closed case very soon. I'm thinking PSU goes after Gonzales or Stokes as #2 target.

From PPG 1-18-09

On how Penn State recruited him: "They said they were just going to be brutally honest with me. They basically told me that their quarterback recruiting was going to depend on me. If I was going to wait to commit, then they were going to go after more quarterbacks, so they wouldn't be caught in a bad situation at the quarterback position. If I did commit early, that was it. They said they were done recruiting quarterbacks."
