Five Boro Sports - News
Quote:
Pete Gambardella saw signs of greatness in Dominique Easley as an underclassman. He was explosive, strong as an ox and versatile. His junior year, Easley gained consistency.
“He really took off and made a lot of plays,” Gambardella said of his standout defensive lineman, who had 51 tackles, 10 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception last season.
As a result, more than a dozen BCS conference schools have offered him scholarships and Easley was recently invited to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game Jan. 10, 2010 in Orlando Fla., a national showcase to be televised live on ESPN.

Makes sense, especially with LSU. It seems like they crap out amazing defensive linemen.

Don't get the feeling this kid will end up south of the M-D despite what he says about the SEC.

I don't think anyone can match LSU's recent DL success. Tyson Jackson, Ricky Jean-Francois, Glenn Dorsey, Chase Pittman, Claude Wroten, Kyle Williams, Melvin Oliver, Marcus Spears, Marquise Hill (R.I.P) and Chad Lavalais are all LSU DL that have been drafted since 2004, and there's been at least one in every one of those drafts. Whether they've been successful or not is a different issue, but LSU's ability to put DL in the NFL is unmatched. FWIW, Penn State has produced three DL picks in that time (Tamba Hali, Jay Alford, Aaron Maybin)

Well, 2004 is a cutoff point that is the year after PSU had two taken in the first round and Adams later on. Courtney Brown and Brad Scioli were also picked in the draft in the last 10 years. We're loaded with talented linemen again, good chance All Big Ten first team Jared Odrick can be a first round pick, and Larry Johnson is acknowledged as one of the top defensive line coaches in college football. For defensive ends, PSU has one of the best teachers and schemes.
