Baublitz awaits offer -
Quote:
Some college coaches don’t need to see any more. Baublitz already has scholarship offers from West Virginia, Pitt, Clemson, Boston College and Stanford.
“He’s not real flashy, but he is consistently around the ball,” Cook said. “He’s a big kid who can run. He’s a quiet leader.”
This season, Baublitz attended two Penn State games as well as games at Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia and Pitt.
“I went to the Penn State-Indiana game and the Penn State-Michigan game,” Baublitz said. “It was really neat. The atmosphere was awesome. The fans were great. I talked to Larry Johnson. Now coach (Mike) McQueary is recruiting me.”
The Nittany Lions have some time to continue evaluating Baublitz. He is not planning to select a college in the near future.
“I’m pretty open,” Baublitz said. “I’ve been to all the schools that have offered except Stanford. I want to see some others. I’ll visit Stanford, Cal, UCLA and Illinois this summer.”

If the 2010 Barometer were up, Baublitz would be listed as "Good".
Hopefully some early PA verbals can get some momentum going and grab some of these guys like Baublitz.

Please note that these rankings are where the prospects are at this moment. The order will change when our first official Top 50 is revealed in the spring, and it will change once again as the season plays out. Young men of this age develop rapidly, both physically and in their knowledge of the game, so some will progress faster and further than others. That includes young men not even on this list who will no doubt come “out of nowhere” over the next year to prove that they also are future college players. But barring anything drastic, those on this list will be ranked highly all season and all will play at major programs.

7. Kyle Baublitz, Central York HS (York) DE/TE- Was a major force as a junior, both as a tight end and as a huge 6'4" 255 pound middle linebacker. Has good speed and athletic ability, which could make him a nice pass rusher at the next level. High energy, very productive player and an excellent student. Early offers include Pitt, West Virginia, BostonCollege, Clemson and Stanford.

Offers keep coming for Baublitz - The York Daily Record
Quote:
This past Saturday certainly was one of the most memorable for Kyle Baublitz.
It started with the Central York junior football star receiving a face-to-face written scholarship offer from Virginia head coach Al Groh during a recruiting trip to Charlottesville.
And it concluded with a full mailbox when the family returned home that evening.

The Nittany Lions have offered a scholarship to less than a dozen prospects from Pennsylvania and one of those is Kyle Baublitz. Baublitz has been a varsity starter at both middle linebacker and tight end since his freshman at York (Pa.) Central.
However, the 6-foot-4 and 245-pound Baublitz will likely play defensive end or possibly tight end in college. Baublitz was all over the field during his junior season. He made 166 tackles including three sacks. He also had close to 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
In the past month, Baublitz has seen his scholarship offer total rise dramatically. “I have 14 offers now,” Baublitz said. “I have Connecticut, Penn State, Rutgers, Pitt, Northwestern, Illinois, West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia, Clemson, Florida State, Stanford, Wisconsin and Maryland. Most of them have offered me for defensive end. A few of them say I could fit in at outside linebacker or tight end, but mostly they say defensive end.”

FWIW, the info came from a message board, so there was no reason to link. He said a story would be forthcoming, which you were able to put up before I could.
BTW - is it considered "making it rain" if you are using $1 bills? Just curious.

from that ydr article:
Baublitz said he gets seven to 10 recruiting letters each day -- just another thing to fit in along with classes, weightlifting and running and playing outside hitter on Central's varsity volleyball team.
|
I just found volleyball an unusual choice -- it's the first time I've noticed a football player also playing volleyball, but he sure needs a lot of agility and explosiveness for it. That kind of athletic skill helps explain all the attention he's getting.
