Williams a familiar face at PSU -

Quote:
There is little guess work when it comes to the Penn State staff and Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor linebacker Travis Williams. Williams has attended the Nittany Lions’ football camp every summer since he was in eighth grade so the Penn staff knows him well.

Williams plans to be back in State College this summer to attend Penn State’s camp one more time. This time, however, Williams will arrive with a scholarship offer from the Nittany Lions in hand.

“I’ve got about six or seven offers that I know of,” Williams said. “But my coaches said I have some more. The ones I know I have are Louisville, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Penn State, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.”

By Don Callahan. Travis says UNC will definitely be one of his top three when he gets to that point....wants a school with good facilities, chance to compete for a title, a chance to compete for a starting position, as well as a school that will help with academic work. Has visited UNC three times and plans to use official visits for UNC, Miami (FL), and West Virginia...will decide other two later. Has also visited Louisville, NC State, PSU, and Virginia Tech.

Williams still on radar -

There is no doubt the Nittany Lions are targeting Stamford, Ct., linebacker Khairi Fortt. Fortt has already said one of his official visits will be to Penn State and the Nittany Lions have to be considered the favorite to land Fortt.

However, another linebacker Penn State fans should not forget about is Travis Williams from Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor.

The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound Williams has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. He made 56 tackles including 15 sacks during his junior season. Williams had 20 sacks as a freshman and 22 his sophomore year.

CONTINUED....
Quote:
Kurelic’s Comment: Williams says he has no favorites at this point, but it seems the Nittany Lions have as good a shot as anyone.

Scout.com: Williams Names Five

8/1

By Daniel Roane. Travis has a top 5 in no particular order: Miami (FL), LSU, PSU, Tennessee, and UNC. WVU is recruiting Travis hard, he plans to visit next week to see what they have to offer...will change up his top 5 if necessary. Talks about his LSU recruiter, possibly visiting LSU for the Florida game, and gives his thoughts on each of his top 5 schools.

By Allen Wallace. Travis has a top three of Miami (FL), West Virginia, and North Carolina....thinks Oregon may offer soon, likes the uniforms, style of play, and all the Nike stuff. Grew up a fan of Miami (FL) and talks about Miami (FL), Tennessee, North Carolina, PSU, West Virginia, and LSU. No timetable for a decision.

Linebacker Travis Williams from Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor has attended Penn State’s football camp since eighth grade. He also visited Penn State on June 21 for a team camp.

Williams plans to be back in State College the weekend of Nov. 7.

“I’m looking forward to the Penn State-Ohio State game,” Williams said. “I know I’ll go to that game.”

Williams says he has at least 15 or 16 scholarship offers including Penn State, Miami, West Virginia, Tennessee, LSU and North Carolina.
