KLHT star steps into limelight

The Norwalk native might have played in relative obscurity at tiny King-Low Heywood Thomas of Stamford, guiding an option offense that was predicated on the running ability of Silas Redd and Kevin Pierre-Louis, two more Norwalk residents who have already been offered scholarships to Boston College as incoming juniors.

Rivals.com Prospect Rankings
Silas Redd
Stamford (CT) King & Low Heywood Thomas RB 5-10/190
list
Scouting Report: Redd can play running back, wide receiver or cornerback in college. He is very strong for his size, cuts on a dime and has excellent ball skills. Redd is very coachable and picks things up quickly. He is also a natural leader.
------
I want this kid...not many others agree he should be a priority - I think that is a mistake, and that he should be a top priority for the '10 class. CA RB/APB Brennan Clay won't be an option, '10 RB Corey Brown is enamored with schools that are not Penn State, and '09 MD RB/APB/WR Tavon Austin doesn't appear to be an option any longer. He is the perfect compliment to the backs we have at Penn State and the incoming RB recruit [Curtis Dukes - NY - 6'2 230].
RS FR Stephfon Green will be a RS JR by the time the '10 Penn State class plays their first collegiate season. I don't know how Green's role will expand or if he will ever be the #1 RB, but I do think Silas is capable of being the #1 RB at Penn State, I just like him even better as a compliment to a #1 [10-15 touches a game, rushing, motioning out in the slot, receptions out of the backfield, etc.]

Sounds like PSU can get him if they want him, otherwise he'll join his teammate at BC.

Scout.com: Connecticut Duo Impressive at Army Combine
1/5
By Alex Hesquijarosa. Silas' father (Silas Redd Sr.) talks about his sons performance at the U.S. Army AA combine in San Antonio, TX. Silas has a personal trainer at Blue Streak Training (CT) and works out with 2010 CT LB Khairi Fortt.

Outside of Marcus Lattimore, 5 star running back from Burns High School in SC, Redd is the only back I truely want next season.
He has a weird running style, but he has good speed and shows very nice power. I would like to see him in better competition. He did get first team all combine at running back.

The fact that Redd and Fortt work out together could be a good thing. Possible package deal.

They're certainly showing up pretty early to the party. I see you're a BC fan, so I'll say this as bluntly as I can; I want Redd at PSU very badly and if we don't get him I'll consider it a failure! We better be all over this kid.

I am silas redd..no lie
HELLO ALL,
I am silas redd and everyday i read this forum and it amazes me what people know and how quickly they know...I just want to clear up all the rumors as far as my recruiting..
1. i have 5 offers right now ( BC, UVa, Stan, UConn, and a verbal from PSU)
2. PSU is recruiting me for DB...which i'm sorta bummed about but nonetheless they are penn state and will always be in my top 3.
3. The offensive coordinator from Texas and Lane Kniffin from Tennessee both called my school about a week and a half ago. None have offered but will start recruiting.
4. ND visited my school but i wasnt there because i was sick...but my coach gave them some game film and hopefully they'll be impressed.
5. Lastly, i have not committed anywhere so if you hear that it's a lie...
