Hope you enjoy the site!

I did see MattC's postings, and while I severely dislike Michigan (what PSU fan wouldn't after all those losses?), it's nice to see fans of different programs getting along for the most part.
I'm enjoying it so far, I'll be checking this site probably every day from now on! Thanks for welcoming me to the site. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute some comments, but I'm new to the recruiting scene. Just learning about it for now, but very excited nonetheless.

The first thing you'll learn is to watch what a kid does and not what he says. That will help keep you from getting fooled so often by all the kids who claim to love PSU but never seem to visit, or those who claim to have no favorites while visiting all the time.
It only starts to make sense once you develop a healthy case of cynicism to see through all the bs that gets reported, and then you'll only get fooled by the very best liars.

Thanks for the advice! What you're saying definitely makes sense. I'm guessing PSU (and probably most every other school) has gotten burned by guys who know how to talk up a school, hm?

Very true you have to understand that these writers are payed to generate buzz about recruits to whatever school they are writing for. So naturally they will try to sway the prospects views towards that school being in the lead or as a top choice.

If those guys are right on the undecideds and we got Bolden, Fortt, Floyd, Haplea, Kenney and Royer...that would be really exciting.

Michigan won't even be in his Top 3 despite what Gene is telling you.
We will have a few DTs, but we took Odrick, McEowen, Ogbu and Koroma in the same class ('06).

Jared Odrick - gone after this season
Abe Koroma - RS JR this season
Tom McEowen - RS JR this season
Ollie Ogbu - RS JR this season
Devon Still - RS SO this season
Chimaeze Okoli - RS SO this season
Brandon Ware - RS FR this season
Jordan Hill - TR FR (on campus - impressive lower body strength for a TR FR)
'10 VA DT commit Evan Hailes
'10 NY DT commit DaQuan Jones
'09 signee (on campus) Sean Stanley is a possibility as an Adams/Ogbu type DT if he gets up near 285-290...kid may very well still be growing into his body type, but right now I really like him at DE and expect him there since I believe he dropped some weight after his SR year and got around 240. '10 PA TE/DE Kyle Baublitz would also be a DT possibility, depending on how he matures and fills out his frame.

Another QB commits to Nittany Lions - AltoonaMirror.com | News, Sports, Jobs, Community Information - The Altoona Mirror
Quote:
FACTBOX: Who's left?
With Rob Bolden's commitment Friday, Penn State is believed to only have a half-dozen more scholarships available in this recruiting class but is still involved with some heavy hitters. Here are some names to watch the rest of the way:
Sharrif Floyd, DT, Philadelphia: Ranked in the top three at his position by both recruiting services; Boston College generally considered PSU's biggest competition.
Khairi Fortt, LB, Stamford, Conn.: Rivals.com's second-rated outside linebacker is close friends with Penn State running back commit Silas Redd.
Kevin Haplea, TE, Annandale, N.J.: One of Scout.com's top 10 at his position is expecting to announce from PSU, Pitt, North Carolina and Florida State later this month.
Alex Kenney, WR, State College: The Little Lion speedster says he hasn't committed to the Lions yet, although other recruits have said he has twice. HAH.
Marcus Lattimore, RB, Duncan, S.C.: Lions are considered a long shot to land nation's top-rated running back, but he's scheduled to visit Penn State the last weekend of July.
Dakota Royer, DE/LB, Lancaster: A productive edge pass rusher in the mold of former Lion Aaron Maybin, he is expected to announce a PSU commitment in July.
Others to watch: California WR Kenny Stills, Maryland FB/RB Zach Zwinak, Michigan DE C.J. Olaniyan, California LB Tony Jefferson
