Expected at camp this weekend:

Paul Jones*
Adrian Coxson*
Evan Hailes
Robert Bolden
DaQuan Jones
Dakota Royer
Alex Kenney

I'd say those last five are ripe for the picking.

It sounds like Bolden wants to meet Jones (again).

Technically, this class will be outstanding on both sides of the ball.

Well, yes, but I'm really impressed with your current commits/commits-to-be. I'd kill to have one of Hailes/Hull/Jones.

Also, how big is your class expected to be?

The good news for us is that Hailes and Sharrif Floyd are friends...and Floyd admires LJ Sr.

Our class should be around 17-18 depending on which "big fish" hop on board. Realistically, we should be looking at:

QB R. Bolden
QB P. Jones
RB S. Redd
WR A. Coxson

WR A. Kenney
TE K. Haplea
OL M. Dieffenbach
OL L. Graham
OL T. Ricketts
DL K. Baublitz

DL S. Floyd
DL E. Hailes
DL D. Jones

DL/LB D. Royer
LB K. Fortt
LB M. Hull

With a few more spots available for:

RB M. Lattimore (long-shot)
WR K. Stills
S T. Williams

How that isn't a Top 10 class...I'm not sure.

I still think you have to take 1-2 DBs if only for depth purposes. Unless 09 players there are grayshirting.

It looks like our staff may go after one safety prospect, but we have very few, if any, offers out to CBs.

We took 4 CBs and 3 S in the last class, and 3 of those 7 should play this year.

I imagine we'll go after 1 CB and 1 S in the 2011 class, barring early departures.

It really doesn't seem like there are any CB prospects that we are in on. There are some kids that probably have most of the physical ability to play CB in PSU's scheme but none of them are highly touted, and none have offers.

5'10 170 MD ATH/RB Antwoine Reese (Westlake - same HS as '09 PSU signee Devon Smith), NJ ATH/RB Nahjee Tyler, 6' 195 PA ATH/RB Jawon Chisholm (watched his YouTube highlights - same school as RS FR PSU DT Brandon Ware....Quad A comp).

I don't think there is any question that '09 signee Derrick Thomas should be on the defensive side of the ball....he should still be used as DWill's primary KR/PR replacement, maybe even as a FR, but he should be prepping for time at CB rather than WR unless it is a one year deal like AJ Wallace/Justin King being used on both sides of the ball.

We've got a handful of WRs with a few years left (Zug, Moye, Brackett, Powell), RS FR AJ Price, all of the '09 signees, and an immediate impact type with Adrian Coxson in '10. I can't imagine how Derrick Thomas won't be at CB...we need him there big time. There are of course numerous other guys at CB, I'm not listing them all, but Lynn and the '09 CB class are really the only players you'd ever expect to see starting.

TR SR AJ Wallace (6'1 185-190 - dropped some size)
TR SO D'Anton Lynn (6'1 195-200 - added size)
RS SR Knowledge Timmons (5'10/5'11 185-190)

At least we'll hold on to D'Anton Lynn after this season, he may just fulfill the promise at CB that AJ Wallace never did. I really like '09 signee Stephon Morris, so whatever his shortcomings are, I believe he'll do really well in the PSU scheme and shouldn't be overlooked.

TR FR Derrick Thomas (6' 180)
TR FR Darrell Givens (6'1 180)
TR FR Stephon Morris (5'9 185-190)
TR FR Michael Wallace (5'10 175)

That is going to be one hell of a scary secondary going against 'Bama in '10. With only Lynn returning and four TR FR CBs things could get scary for PSU. At least we aren't losing any safeties after this upcoming season and they'll have experience going into the '10 season, as well as Lynn having a year under his belt at CB. Of course this is all assuming that Lynn/both S start all year and don't suffer any injuries...

I hope you don't...Tejay Johnson would be a nice get for us. There's also the Campbell kid from PA, Jones from Delaware.

Nittany Lions off to great start on recruiting - The York Daily Record Farrell praises PSU and talks about the difference between PJ and R. Bolden. The 'everything is 100 MPH' talk with Bolden scares me if he were to commit to PSU, conjures up images of Morelli.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I found this forum yesterday, as I've recently been looking for more and more recruiting info for PSU. I hate that most of the sites are pay sites (Rivals, Scout.com), so I appreciate all the information here.

That list looks very, very good. If we could get that class together, I'd be absolutely ecstatic. This is the first year I've followed recruiting so I'm very excited to see who else PSU can pick up.

Welcome.

This is a good site for info, and one of the main reasons why (as you'll soon discover) is because of the interaction between fans from various schools. When we're not fighting with each other, we occasionally drop some nuggets of info to each other.

Hope you enjoy the site!
