'10 PA QB Paul Jones (Penn State Verbal)
'10 PA QB Paul Jones
Pro-style quarterback
McKees Rocks (PA) Sto Rox
Ht: 6-foot-2
Wt: 212 lbs
Class: 2010 (High School)
Keystone Recruiting
8/4
Quote:
Sto-Rox High School in McKees Rocks is not known for producing D-1 talent, but that will change with rising junior quarterback PAUL JONES. The 6’2” 215 pound Jones already has good size, but that’s just the beginning of his many positive traits, both on and off the field.
“He has the strongest arm I’ve been around and I’ve been coaching for 21 years,” says Sto-Rox head coach John Ruscitto. “He can make all the throws a quarterback needs to make already. He can throw the deep out, but he also has the touch to throw a screen pass to the fullback.”
The humble Jones, who passed for 1,850 yards and 20 touchdowns last season, is clearly surprised by all of the sudden attention he gained after a strong summer camp season, but Ruscitto says his star has everything under control.
“He’s a quality person,” says Ruscitto. “A better person than a player and that’s saying something. He’s a great leader, very smart, very funny, comes from a great family, and is close to 90 percent in the classroom. He’s once in a lifetime.”

None of the rising juniors can receive written offers until September, but Jones and Carswell already have verbal offers from Pitt, where they both excelled at a recent summer camp, and Jones also has an offer from Cincinnati. There will be many more for both.
Jones claims to be wide open and when asked what he’s looking for in a college, he only says, “Education and where I can play the fastest.”
Jones and Carswell are friends and that also may come into play, according to Jones, who says, “Andrew and I are definitely going to play together in college.”

Beaver Falls' coming out party - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Quote:
Pitt makes offers
Pitt has made offers to four high school juniors in its continuing quest to lock down the Western Pennsylvania football market.
The players are: Sto-Rox quarterback Paul Jones and wide receiver Andrew Carswell, Fox Chapel offensive lineman Miles Dieffenbach, 6-4, 275, and Clairton wide receiver Kevin Weatherspoon.
Jones has completed 39 of 57 passes for 708 yards and eight touchdowns in three games for Sto-Rox (3-0). Weatherspoon scored on a 10-yard reception and 54-yard punt return in a 48-6 victory Friday against Frazier.

Should be at the Temple game, Illinois game as well as the Michigan game. Illinois & Michigan as a recruit, Temple with his own tickets.

You are falling into Jenandsons trap. He was a no show for Temple. Suggest you don't listen to that poster until some of these comments actually happen.

No question, I am for sure. However I question whether or not it would be particularly easy to spot or get info on whether or not someone was at the game if they weren't scheduled to be there. I mean if you have your own tickets and just enter whatever gate at will, it isn't like BWI or FOS is going to have pictures of you at the game. Regardless, I hope Illinois gets rocked @ Penn State and Jones is there watching Daryll Clark, envisioning himself leading Penn State.

No doubt. I hope Paul Jones comes to Penn State, '10 class should be sick and we need QBs. On another note, that hoodie is sweet, wish I had that style.

I'd feel a lot better if he had been on the tOSU sideline last weekend dressed like that. heh
Also noticed that FOS had a recruiting chat the other night and Jones participated along with Shrive. Usually it seems the recruits who join in those are already committed and I haven't noticed juniors participating before . . . though maybe I haven't noticed too. Anyway, maybe that's another data point in PSU's favor.

AJ Alexander was a regular, but that was a different situation.

Relax ... Jones or Hull will fight it out to be PSU's first verbal for next year.

God forbid we'd be like the other 1xx other schools and send out writtens ASAP, but we're undefeated so it's hard to complain with Joe's style.
