Even though there have been published reports that he committed earlier, Kersey said he did not tell the Penn State coaches until yesterday that he would be coming to Happy Valley.

"I just liked everything about the school," Kersey said while driving home from his visit. "It was my first time up here I was so impressed with everything about the school and the football program."

Kersey, a one-time Rutgers commit, made his decision shortly after arriving on campus.

"After the first night, we were sitting there at dinner and (wide receiver coach and recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary) asked me how it was going, and I said, 'It's home," Kersey told BlueWhite Illustrated. "So he said, 'Are you going to come and be a part of the family?' So I said, 'Yeah, I want to be a part of the family.'"
