Corey Nelson, one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2010 class, plans to hit the road this summer in search of the right program - ESPN

Coast to coast notes
What will it take?
Wide receiver Alex Kenney (State College, Pa./State College Area) holds more than a dozen scholarship offers, including one from the hometown Nittany Lions. So what will it take for an opposing school to pull him out of Happy Valley?
"I have been able to build a strong relationship with the Penn State coaches," he said. "I think very highly of Penn State as a football program. But if another school feels like home to me, I won't hesitate to leave."
Kenney and his father will visit North Carolina and Wake Forest in July.

Kenney Recruiting Diary: Entry Seven -

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a standout high school football prospect? Ever wonder what it’s like to have the college football teams you watched on T.V. growing up offer you a chance to play for them? Wonder no more. From now until National Signing Day on Feb. 3, 2010, Nittany Network will routinely check in with State College High wide receiver and Nittany Lions target Alex Kenney to get a feel for the recruiting process through the eyes of a top prospect.

I wonder if we'll get a commitment when he's up here at the end of the month.
Looks like the end of June could be good for us. Royer is visiting and plans to make a summertime decision, Kenney, DaQuan Jones, Evan Hailes could pull the trigger, Lattimore visiting...
IMO, 2-3 verbals by the end of the month is a good bet...and another 1-2 before the season...puts us at 11-13 verbals by September with Stills, Lattimore, and Floyd as the big fish to reel in by LOI day.

I have said for the past three weeks that staff needs to offer Felder and say the first one between him and Kenney who jump at the offer gets a spot. That tells Kenney to crap or get off the pot.

I don't think that would accomplish anything besides giving impatient fans a warm and fuzzy feeling sooner than later.

Or maybe it tells people that I think Kenney is nothing more than AJ Alexander and I prefer Felder? Kenney knows if he is going to PSU or not right now.

Agree with this 1000%...this kid has known for months whether he will be going to PSU. I don't know, but I would need a hell of a lot of convincing before believing he doesn't know.

How's this...
1. Kenney visits next weekend and verbals along with 1-2 others. This continues our momentum heading through the summer OR...
2. Kenney does not verbal and the staff decides to offer a couple of other players (Felder, Nick Jones, etc.). The staff figures Kenney is heading elsewhere and they move on.

+1
This is weekend will indicate whether Kenney is a Nittany Lion or not. The staff will know if he plans on committing or not and act accordingly. I don't see him going to BC or UVA, JMO. They are a notch above PSU academically, but multiple notches below in the football category.

We've been down that road before.
It also appears that the Byrnes posse may be losing interest...

Use it as a data point, and totally fwiw, but I heard via a six degrees of Kevin Bacon type deal that Kenney won't be coming to PSU....info originating from his father.
