It'll be interesting to see how Alex's recruitment goes, this may very well come down to a personal preference, whether or not he would like to remain in SC where has has been living or get out there (OOS-won't go to Pitt) on his own. Really don't have a read on the situation at all, it'd be nice to keep him and get his PSU commitment but he lives right in the shadows of PSU, so who knows.

I'm more curious to see how the staff handles him. Will they put on the full-court press or will they get annoyed with his "looking elsewhere" mantra.
Not that they are the same person, but there is an A.J. Alexander element to Kenney.

I don't know 42. Both of the Johnson kids "looked elsewhere."
Kenney is an impact recruit. The staff will full court press him.

I hope so. He appears to be in the DWill mold of the versatile WR. Looks like a perfect fit for our offense.

My first reaction to this was "Well, if they haven't gotten annoyed with Justin Brown looking around they surely won't with Kenney", but now I'm thinking they might have had more of it than they can take from Brown and so they'll be ready to strangle Kenny if he doesn't commit by the end of Feb.

Please note that these rankings are where the prospects are at this moment. The order will change when our first official Top 50 is revealed in the spring, and it will change once again as the season plays out. Young men of this age develop rapidly, both physically and in their knowledge of the game, so some will progress faster and further than others. That includes young men not even on this list who will no doubt come “out of nowhere” over the next year to prove that they also are future college players. But barring anything drastic, those on this list will be ranked highly all season and all will play at major programs.

8. Alex Kenney, State College HS (State College) WR- A track star and the fastest football player in the state, but he has football instincts, too. Great after the catch, using quick moves instead of just straight line speed. Unlike most speed demons, he isn't small at 6'0" and 185 pounds. Also a great return man. Early offers have come from Penn State, Pitt, Boston College, Illinois, Stanford and Virginia.

State College High’s Alex Kenney is one of Pennsylvania’s top five class of 2010 prospects and remains one of the Nittany Lions’ top targets.
The 6-foot and 190-pound Kenney has over a half-dozen scholarship offers.
“Pitt just offered the other day,” Kenney said.
Penn State, Stanford, Virginia, Illinois, Boston College and Buffalo had already offered.

Kenney will be at Penn State on Friday. CJ has stated that if there are verbals this weekend, Kenney and Royer are the most likely to do so.
TIFWIW.

It's surprising to hear that Kenney would be considered a possible verbal this weekend -- I had the impression he was still in a "I'm taking my time and looking around" mode that would last until summer or longer.
Though I'd still be surprised if he pulled the trigger this weekend, at least it probably means PSU is atop his list.

I really want this kid to be a penn stater, Being an incoming freshman next year I think this kid is one of the most underrated wideouts in the class, this kid can and will be a stud at some point whereever he goes.

The nice thing with Kenney and Stills is that they are versatile and can play on either side of the ball. That way, if we somehow land both, one can play O and the other D.
I wouldn't mind the quartet of Heard, Redd, Kenney and Stills as the ATH in this class.
