I know you guys have been talking about Austin pledging to PSU soon, but I am now hearing the same thing from the enemy sides...

Just got off a red-eye from the west coast - grumpy and tired - my reading comp (reading between the lines) isn't working. So, are you saying there are others claiming Austin is going to verbal to them soon, or is the enemy saying he is verballing to PSU soon? |

As they should...as they should!  Kind of sucks that he wants to announce at an all-star game IF selected, that would be quite the wait...but oh well I hope he decided on Penn State. Getting Tavon & Curtis Dukes would surely make me happy with the RB recruiting for '09.

I'm hearing the same things about Mr. Jenkins, although not from the MD people.
Unfortunately, the news might not be so good about Mr. Hawkins. We shall see...

Relax about Hawkins. You can't tell me he has certain individuals in his ear - ones heading north. If Ankrah gets his offer, the tide will change dramatically if all these rumors are correct. |

UB - I have the impression that the MD crew isn't really talking to Hawkins very much. It seems like they are focusing their efforts on Austin and Jenkins.
I hope you're right. Hawkins has the ability to not only play early, but start from Day 1 as he will be enrolling early.

As I said on FOS ... if PSU closes in Maryland with Austin, Jenkins and maybe Devon Smith (if offered), then I won't be too upset in the least losing Hawkins and probably Ankrah. Then again, want to see what happens if/when Ankrah gets his offer from PSU. There are options. Hawkins can no doubt help and play early and I want him. However, waiting on Love and Abdul Smith, two guys that can close out the secondary as far as verbals and we still have Kersey (if he gets the test score), Justin Brown and Jaleel Clark as far as WRs go.
Looks like PSU offered a DT from Maryland named Randolph (Maryland #9). |
